I would suggest you check with MBNA exactly what these relate to. Probably not refundable (e.g. if for interest on cash advances, DCA fees, etc)finance charge these began 12 months after card began?
£82.76, £92.83, £82.93. these continue for 6 months straight prior to card being paid off.
Interest accrued on retail purchases (where outstanding balances are not cleared monthly) - Not refundable.other odd payments are for
posted retail interest
begins around 4th month in for £8.79 by the last 12 months or so they vary between £32.58 and £83.25 there are 23 of these
Fees incurred for going over the agreed credit limit.overlimit fee on balance 21 x £12
Worth attempting to reclaim as per MSE article. You may not receive any refund as each fee does not exceed £12
Fees incurred for not paying at least the minimum monthly payment on time. Worth attempting to reclaim as per MSE article. Expect a minimum of £13 refund (difference between £25 and £12) assuming £25 charge was applied within last 6 years (5 years in Scotland)late fees 18 x £12 1x£25
Is this actually a charge or a credit?late fee adjustment £25
If a credit, it appears to refund the £25 late fee above so forget the above advice.
If a charge, worth reclaiming as per MSE article. Expect a minimum refund of £13 assuming £25 charge was applied within last 6 years (5 years in Scotland)
Fees incurred for cash advances - Not refundableposted cash advance fees 14x£3.00
Late fee because a payment you made on time bounced -, you could try adding it to any claim, but don't expect a refund as it is not greater than £12late fee for returned PYT NSY? £12
Interest applied to cash advances provided - not refundableposted cash advance interest varys from £0.85 to £9.99 16 payments to that
Charges incurred because payments you made to the card company bounced. - not refundablereturn PM fee??? 4x£12
Again is this a credit or a charge?ovl fee adj??? £12
If a credit, then it appears they have refunded one of the £12 over limit fees.
If a charge, check with MBNA exactly what it was for, e.g. overlimit charge. If so, worth including in your overall claim. Don't expect anything back as the charge does not exceed £12
Note, as per MSE article, only fees incurred within the last 6 years ( 5 years in Scotland) can be included in any claim.
Overlimit or late payment fees of £12 or less each will not be usually be ordered to be refunded by the FOS as part of an agreed settlement.0 -
Thank you. Its shocking how they can get away with all these charges and fees especially when he used the card for only a short time. From dec 2006 until the october 08 he never used it at all and never used it at all for cash withdrawls ever. He just set up a DD with them amd the more he paid the more they added these on. So there is no way he can claim for a refund from any of these really. Im disgusted tbh. Yes he spent it but it was like when he paid more than the minimum they just slammed more on. They contibuted in a way to the mess were he could not keep up. So for nearly 2yrs of never using it they cn get away with all these charges. How awful.0

I do know he tried paying it and it became a mass of charges etc it ended up I believe at a debt collection agency.
Anyways here is a breakdown from what I can make out
LATE FEE'S TOTAL £241
POSTED RETAIL INTEREST? £1228.15
LATE FEE ADJ? £25
POSTED CASH ADVANCE FEES? £42
FINANCE CHARGES £424.82
INTEREST ADJ? £60.95
LATE FEE FOR RETURNED PAYMENT PYT £12
OVERLIMIT FEE ON BALANCE £252
RETURN PAYMENT FEE £48
POSTED CASH ADVANCE INTEREST £55.015
TOTAL CHARGES £2388.935
To be honest its all very confusing as
He spent £3181.65. retail online shopping and bills etc...
Via Lloyds TSB he paid in total £ 4713.21
to Mackenzie hall ltd he paid a further £1633.69.
Is it just me or does this not make any sense. Does he have a claim for any of these charges
Should I just sent this paperwork to the ombudsman and let them figure it out. None of the figures if I really went into what it says makes any sense at all.
He has no clue what any of these charges are for. The card was started in april 2006 his last time using the card was December 2006. from December 2006 until October 2008 is all they have gave me in paperwork. He is sure he didn't ask for any PPI on it is that something that can be on here under another name.
can anyone help a very puzzled wifey :rotfl:

Wow thanks for the link. Personally i feel even though he used the card he paid twice the minimum per month it was literally wiped out by there charges. It eventually lead to him unable to keep up, got in quite a mess with. That and issues with first direct sent us into bad debt leading to us having to sell our house. Yes hands in air we spent. But we paid and then some, mbna hammered him with these charges. I had the form filled in for him ready and waiting, thinkin hhhhhhmmmmmm should i bother. Well yup im gona post it in morning. Thank u x0

Well oddly enough had a letter from mbna this morning, saying an investigation is ongoing with the account and they will be in touch before 7/july/13. Odd they must have realised by my 2 emails that once I had the list of transactions I may take action regarding these charges/fees etc. shll have to wait and see what there next step is.0

Hi
I wrote some time ago that the FOS had agreed that my claim was valid and were instructing Lloyds TSB to reply by March 8th 2013. I hadnt heard anything 3 months later in June 2013 so I sent an email asking if they had replied. 3 days after the email I received a letter fro the FOS saying that Lloyds had agreed to pay me and were looking into how much and it will take 12 weeks approx.
This meant that is will have taken 15 months approx to get to the 12 week deadline from sending my claim to the Ombudsman.
One things is worrying me as I got a phone call from someone asking about PPI who didnt say who they were and I assumed that it was cold calling PPI firms touting for business. I sent them off with a flee in their ear, didnt listen and I am now worrying that it might have been Lloyds.
Will this never end?0
