I'm trying to uninstall Rapport in safe mode.
I keep getting the message "The Windows Installer service could not be accessed"
I cannot get into the computer any other way apart from safe mode, as I get the blue screen etc if I log in normally.,
Can any one help me to uninstall Rapport from within Safe Mode?0 -
Just google " safe mode the windows installer service " ( without quotes) and you should find suggestions to get the Installer service to work in safe mode.0

Run this file; SafeMsi whilst in Safe Mode. Download it and double click on it or just downland and chose 'open' when in Safe Mode with Networking.0

Try using Revo Uninstaller to get rid of Rapport if you can't fix the Windows installer error.
You can get into Safe Mode with networking and hope it can give you internet access to download Revo Uninstaller.0 -
Hi All,
Update for you all.
I have just done a system restore to last Monday, because last time I did a system restore it let me into normal windows for about 5 minutes.
Again it let me in so I uninstalled rapport straight away. This has been completed ok.
I have now been in windows for 15 minutes and my computer has not crashed. Hopefully its fixed but I will update later.
Do I need Rapport? I'm not going to reinstall it. As long as I put my banking passwords in ok and bank web address in I should be ok. Do you all agree?
Many thanks0 -
no you don't!!

I am now posting this message on my desktop computer that, since last Thursday night, I thought was a goner.
I know its early days yet, but it does look promising.
I have uninstalled report from my laptop as well now, just in case, because that is also Windows xp.
What a great site this is. Thank you so much to everyone who has posted. Even if this computer goes belly up again, I am still very very grateful for all your help.
And a big thanks to Deru. You have possibly saved me the best part of £800.
I'll keep you all updated.
My computer has risen from the ashes thanks to the brilliant posters on MSE.0 -
