Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 and Kies

I have had a problem with Kies for almost a year and have had to uninstall and install with great difficulty. I have just uninstalled Kies and Kies light again and tried to reinstall without success. I need to back up my Galaxy Ace so that I can do a factory reset and then restore.

Has anyone any advise or is there a better programme than Kies.

Need to do this fairly urgently so all help with be gratefuly received.

Kies is a well known problem . Search multiple Kies posts on the forum .

Have a look at this on Play see if it wil cover your backup needs .

Kies sure does suck!

Doing a restore after a factory reset does kinda defeat the purpose of the reset though? Anyway, of you're rooted you could use the fantastic Titanium backup.

I have obviously misled you, Rusty, I didn't do a restore after factory reset. I wanted to backup on my PC before I did a factory restore so that I could then download to my phone again. This was on the advice of T-mobile technical department. I am not terribly technically minded so I need loads of help. Quite happy to try but not when I am out of my depth.
