Chest Infection - pre existing condition?

But between then and now the child has, I assume, been well.
They are possibly checking the child has never been diagnosed with asthma.
When Spanish docs said bronchitis she also said sounds like asthma too and I know he's defo not been diagnosed before. Now this morning wife took him to gp and requested a specialist to see y so many infections which he will but did say he will grow out of being so easy to catch them0 -

Problem is OP has already been on the holiday!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

If your child was ill before you went on the trip, then a claim may be a bit iffy, even if you did not see a Doctor.
Just inform the Insurers of the facts and see what they say. If there was no pre-existing condition that had been diagnosed or even suspected before your trip, then a claim should be successful. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -

TBH I would just get your GP to follow this up. Bronchitis is NOT the same as asthma; bronchitis is an infection and can be treated with ABs; asthma requires a different management method BUT an attack of bronchitis or a chest infection CAN trigger an asthma attack HOWEVER in my experience docs abroad cover all the bases, possibly because they are being paid.
(Thread will get pulled if it gets too medical!)
Two separate issues - child's health going forward on which I am NOT going to comment other than to suggest you see your GP (which I would suggest anyway as you have had to consult a doctor while on holiday)and an insurance claim for a one-off acute attack of 'something' while abroad. Insurance company are just checking there wasn't a pre-existing condition. Given your child didn't have a diagnosis and wasn't under the doc before you went you will be fine, I'm sure.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Lol I was thinking that it might get pulled. Ill see what they say I also have approx €800 in medicines from pharmacies and taxis which I need to claim too.0 -
Make sure you retain photocopies of all your receipts before you send them. Log any phone calls (date & time, to whom you spoke and what was said).
Given you're claiming in excess of 800 euro no wonder they are checking with your GP!
If it were me and the claim was rejected I would be escalating to the ombudsman - unless your child was receiving treatment for a chest infection at the time of taking out the policy/travel then he did NOT have a pre-existing condition!
It's not an 'iffy' claim at all;)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Haven't put the €800 claim in yet!! The hospital was €100 one way, ha to buy the medicines outside of hospital and had to pay €10 one way to the pharmacy 3 x so 6 in one day for nebuliser treatment .0
