I've seen a lovely hol to win for Sorrento, somewhere I've always wanted to go but it's for two adults only. I have three kids too but it would probably be too expensive to pay for 3 kids!
I did however win a hol to Crete a few yrs back for a family of 4 and I paid an extra flight only, we were allowed all the extras free. I was also meant to go in term time but was able to negotiate as I worked in school so couldn't take time offBig thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -
I'm sure I saw a competition for a family holiday either early this year or late last year that stated it was for a family of four (as per usual) but the holiday couldn't be used in Easter and August.
The two times when kids are off school.0 -

Are you listening comping fairy? You'll have to speak up; I'm wearing a towel0 -
Yup. I noticed that most 'family' comps are in term time only as well. I won a trip to Austria for 2 adults, but being a single mum, I took my eldest who was nearly 13 instead and luckily I was only doing my teacher training then so managed to wangle the time off. Couldn't do it now though.Noli nothis permittere te terere

My holidays win have both been or 2 people so for me and my partner it's sorted.
I do enter ones for 2 adults + kids as well even though I don't have kids and only the two of us would go. I'm pretty sure the company organizing the competition wouldn't object to not having the fund the full 2 + 2 trip!0 -

You'd think, wouldn't you?! But, there was a thread on here (or IWIWIW perhaps) recently where a lady had a WTC from a newspaper telling her she'd won a family (2+2) holiday to, I think, Disney world? Anyway the lady didn't have kids herself and asked if just her and her partner could go. The answer? A big fat NO! She even asked if she could take her nieces or nephews, and the answer was still no, it had to be the winner's OWN family / kids!! So the newspaper withdrew the prize and awarded it to somebody else! How gut wrenching is that, to miss out on a big win like that just because there aren't enough of you to go!!
So my fears are somewhat similar, even though the other way round, I would dread the thought of winning a 2+2 family holiday only to have it taken away from me!!0 -

I have often thought of that, but I've read a lot of T & Cs which often phrase it as '2 adults and up to 2 children' - which I infer as 'two or less', which means I would qualify for the prize.
And just for the record, I don't enter for holidays which are designed specifically for children. I'm not that selfish.0 -

That is horrible, how upset would you be??!!
I enter family holidays and holidays for two people. I have a daughter now (8 weeks old) and I hope that if we win a holiday for two, I am able to take her along - she wouldn't require a seat on a plane, won't need a bed in the hotel and won't eat there as still on milk. Even if she did I would happily pay for her to go.... However, if it was a short break for two (long weekend ect) I would have my mum look after her and have a bit of 'couple time'.
I know it would be hard to win a holiday then lose it, but we agree to the t&cs when we enter....This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
