Personally I wouldn't buy a hollow fibre sofa from DFS. The plumping is all you get told.
We had a hollow fibre one, which ended up getting taken back a the frame kept collapsing. The upholstery frayed a lot, we had to have cushions sent away repeatedly. But the cushions fillings were terrible!
If you plumped them vigoursly they looked great until you sat up, then the chair looked 10 years old.
The plumping was shown to us by one of the many service guys who came to visit. It's not suitable for the elderly or disabled in my opinion. They should be advised of this upon the sale.
We plumped ours and they looked horrific, we ended up getting a foam filled one from DFS as an exchange. Still 2k is a lot considering that's needed repairs as well....0 -
We went to a local upholsterer, as our sofa's hollow fibre stuff went the same way.
They charged £100 to fill the cushions better, which lasted for a few more years. We then shopped elsewhere for our replacement.
The shop may make more profit today, but loses out on repeat business.0 -
My folks have a leather sofa with 10 year warranty. The foam has collapsed and they have been told this isn't covered only the frame and leather.
They went away a week ago supposedly to quote for the foam. Naturally they didn't phone as promised and my father chased them. They have told him a load of waffle about there not being any foam from the Italian factory it was made!
Any way surely if it has a warranty this should be covered?
Can anyone help out with this?
Thanks0 -
The 10 year warranty is for the frame and springs however you do get a 2 year warranty on the interiors of the cushions from delivery date.0
