Unhappy with DFS Sofa

We recently bought two new sofas from our local DFS store. We had them delivered and are very unhappy with the poor quality. Atthe earliest opportunity, we made this clear to our local store, however thestore manager (after many telephone conversations) has said that there isnothing else he can do. In past telephone conversations, the manager hasrecommended that we have the cushions refilled with a different filling (whichis more robust) which will cost us and additional £140. The total cost of thesofas were £1931. We have started discussions with head office with regards toour dissatisfaction with the product. The store workers have also said that weshould be taking the cushions of the sofa and "plumping" them daily. With my grandmothers arthritis, she is unable to do this. The store has alsosaid that we would have been made aware of this when we initially bought thesofa however this is incorrect as knowing this we would have not bought thesofa. We are just about to send a letter to head office highlighting how unhappy we are. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I take it the seats on your sofa are hollow fiber and not foam???????0

Hi. It might be, not too sure. When you sit on it and get up it just leve the cushion messed up and dented greatly. Looks like its about 5 years old even though we only got it the other week!0

they sound like there hollow fibre, but did they not go over the care advise.????
Whats the name of the suite.0 -
Partly... They said about dont try and get a stain out if you spill anything on it etc just to call them straight away. They definitely didn't say anything about having to "plump" them everyday. And it's the sensation formal 4 seater oatmeal combi.0

This may be the case, however the one in the showroom would have had the foam inside. This also was not stated0

Can you prove the one in the showroom is foam filled?
Did they explicitly state that the sofa you would receive was foam filled as opposed to what is advertised?0 -

Two different fillings are available.
From their product page:Product information-
Handcrafted in Britain.
-
Shown here in Oatmeal Combination.
-
Available in pillow back or formal back.
-
Available with foam interior seat cushions at extra cost.
Did you pay extra for foam interior seat cushions?0 -
Whatever the filling, a new sofa should not look like an old charity shop donation, after a week of use. They can fill their products by whatever they choose - old socks lol, however this won't free them from the obligation of providing the product of acceptable quality and durability, fit for purpose. A sofa which sags straight away is not fit for purpose - i.e. sitting and then standing up without having to plump/flush/callforhelp. Normal sofas are not expected to sag uglily. End of . Refund is due.0
