One thing - can I go along to the garden centre and get a rose now? I wanted to get online but they are finished until Nov  Am so thick I didn't think of that lol0

Also look at Peter Beales classic roses website. There is a brilliant search tool.
Zephyrine drouhin is prone to disease. At a talk by David Austin the chap said he thought it was reprehensible to sell it its so disease prone! It's one of only two roses that have died for me.
You don't mention the size that you want the plant eventually, that would be a dictating factor to me.
I have a garden full of red and pink climbers. For different reasons the ones I rate most highly are ena harkness, high grove, princes trust. (I have others that I might prefer the flower of , but these reliably throughout the season for me).
Pinks are easier IMO. Aloha is a wonderful rose, and although its only a once flowerer I cannot imagine ever having a garden without Madame Gregoire stacheline in it.0 -

Are to sure they haven't finished bare roots but still selling potted?
Yes, you can go to a garden centre, your choice won't be as extensive. I really do recommend looking at Peter Beales, and probably harkness website too before deciding.0 -

Mardatha, as LIR says, that is just for bare root roses. If you buy a containerised one you can plant those at any time. Peter Beales is a good suggestion as a source, too.0 -
Brilliant help thanks xx0

Can someone recommend a really fast climbing one, sented would be nice too. It gets full sun from early to 3pm then slightly some of it in shade with the rest of the fence in full sun till at least 6pm on a normal summer day.
Soil, not sure yet as not built the beds(but be top graded top soil)
