Morgan Stanley NO LONGER taking Apps for Gold/Plat cards

I phoned MS yesterday to cancel my card. I have not had any negative experiences with MS, it's just that the cashback level had dropped to 0.5% and I am currently getting 1% CB with egg money.
I was put through to the 'cancellations' (retentions) department and offered 1.5% CB for three months. I'll work out my spending to make best use of this, bearing in mind CB can only be cashed in in multiples of £15.
This might be worth bearing in mind if anyone was thinking cancelling their MS card. Maybe they are now keen to hold to certain customers who match a profile?

A letter today from Goldfish states that they are no longer Morgan Stanley but now the Goldfish Bank Limited (since 1 June) Just who are they? No details on the Goldfish Website and I can't find anything about the Goldfish Bank.

Just what are Morgan Stanley up to?

Well I cancelled my Morgan Stanley card 4 wks ago, got confirmation letter etc.

Today received my monthly statement of zero blance and details of transfer to Goldfish.

What do you need to do to cancel a card???

I will be extremely miffed if they they to get me to pay the 20squid annual fee.
