  • The ipoints website is still up - it's just that most people's web browsers can't find it because they haven't renewed the ipoints.co.uk domain.

If it's desperately important that anyone needs to visit the site, it can be done. Here's how I did it. I offer no warranty on this - it works for me on my Windows XP PC. It may or may not work for you.

First, click Start, then Run. Type:

    notepad C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts.

The dot at the end of the above line is important. When the window appears, you should see a dozen or so lines starting with #. If so, add this line to the bottom of the file.

Save the file. Now open your browser and type www.ipoints.co.uk. It should work.

When you've finished, be sure to repeat the procedure but this time remove the line, otherwise you may have trouble when/if the site comes back up.

I was getting rather concerned that it might be something I had done. Fingers crossed it is up and running soon. I did a lot of Christmas shopping linking from the ipoints site, so should have built up a good number of points to treat myself with!! Will just keep trying.

I tried typing in the numbers into my (firefox) browser and it takes you to the french site. Clicking on the union jack takes you back to the 'address not found' page. so they are still out there.
Time to brush up on my o level french moi thinks !
