ive never known anyone to get a car crushed, the police wont even go to the trouble of giving you a fine in my area.
either way, as already said thats a completely different subject and i would like to keep the thread on track.
would i be able to sort out a payment scheme with admiral? im currently trying to pay of my creditcard, id rather pay that as it has interest and the admiral bill does not0 -
They aren't chasing you because you were uninsured! They are not the police.
They are saying that they know you weren't double insured from your renewal date, (had you gone elsewhere at renewal then they may have let you off with a cancellation fee, and no premium for the period you were doubly covered).
So they are correctly charging you for the period between your renewal date and the cancellation date.0 -

Since 2005, when police were given powers to stop vehicles identified as being driven without insurance, an average of 500 vehicles have been seized each day. Of those, an estimated 30pc are crushed.

The initial fine is generally done automatically by the DVLA as it isnt a hard db query to see which vehicles are registered but arent in their SORN database and aren't in the MID database. Hence in theory being better at stopping people because it no longer requires the police to do anything.
As it has now been passed to debt collectors you will need to agree with them any payment terms. Most will accept a reasonably token offer as its better to get the money in and not add legal costs than faff about.0 -

and the price of fish is 50p per kg
The OP's comment & indeed the whole thread is about the minor "crime" of having an uninsured car tucked away in a garage without declaring SORN so I don't really see why you have muddied the waters by bring the serious crime of uninsured driving into it?0 -

Not a matter of like, just trying to see if there was some relevance I'd missed or was it just pointless water muddying0

Very clear that Admiral auto-renews - the letter spells it out nice and clearly. They provided you with insurance for a month, you have to pay as they have found out your lie about having another insurance for that period.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0
