I have NEVER found Blackcircles, Kwikfit. F1, or HiQ to be particularly good on price or to be able to even quote on tyres I have wanted for my X5 or Audi S8 - Camskills have often been the best but you need to factor in the fitting (I have a local indy who fits them for me and I always check if they can match or beat the price first.) I check the prices on Blackcircles etc every time and they are never the best for my vehicles, but others have had good deals from them.

That's exactly why I use the all-in-one retailer, I just don't have the time or patience to order tyres online, have them delivered to my house and then arrange to have them fitted elsewhere.

I realise that I am doing my local tyre company no favours as all they get paid by Blackcircles is to fit, new valve and balance them.

When they see me walking in they say ' here he comes again with his booking reference' , but they are always pleasant and accommodating.

I used Camskill once, the prices were very good, but, I got shafted on the fitting.

Basically stuck all 4 tyres in the car (a coupe) which was a struggle. Drove to work, at lunch popped to the local tyre fitting place. Didn't want the work, I laughed when he said, is it an import, you never know with these imports. Yep the import with Oz alloy wheels, not like they are square! Anyway, went to the next place, who said OK, but £20 a corner, though it was steep (about 10 years ago) so leave it. Next day try another again they refuse, ended up back at the second garage and paid £80 to fit. Overall still saved about £40, but was a lot of hassle.

But if I had a decent local fitter for £10 a corner it may be worth the extra hassle.

I agree - wouldn't do it myself if I didn't have a friendly local fitter. They do £10 a corner fitted and balanced and disposal of old tyre, etc, all incl. They swop my winter / summer wheels for £20 for all four. I can't imagine one of the chains being as accommodating or some place with an attitude. But even with Blackcircles all incl price, I have never found them competetive for my cars, I do check them each time mind you ;) you never know!

Without delving at great depth the price you have been quoted is about £10 more than mytyres, so probably not too bad.

Anther tyre worth considering is the Cooper Zeon (but not saving you much).
