Best place to get good value tyres fitted to Honda CRV...
Hi all,
I need to get three new tyres to my Honda CRV and don't know where to go to get the best deal. Kwikfit online is £137/each for Continental 4x4 tyres (fully fitted). I have found SPTV tyres elsewhere online for £96/each, but this sounds too cheap?
Does anyone know of any good deals at the moment please as I can ill-afford this?!!!!!
Many thanks!

You will need to let people know exact size of the tyre and speed rating (written on the tyre wall) to be able to help.0

Thank you. They are 225/65/R17 T102.0

Try www.blackcircles.com , which with their MOT for £5 deal* on many proper brands may well offer a good option or two.
Also check out www.tyrereviews.co.uk to get an idea of whether tyres you're considering are any good or not. Finally, have a look here if you're not familiar with the new European tyre label info.
*Check the terms of the deal yourself, but essentially you get your MOT wherever you want when it's next due (any time during next 12 months) and you then get the cost less £5 refunded.0 -
I have a CRV but with 18" wheels. Often Yokohama 4x4 tyres are cheapest and although you won't see them on the website, Kwikfit and many other tyre depots can get them easy enough within a couple of days.
The Yokohama Geolandar G051 is excellent on the CRV as its a proper M&S (mud and snow tyre) like the original Dunlops Honda fit.
The Continentals are a really good performing tyre hence the price, but I wore them out pretty quick so not so good if its your own money.
Worth popping in in person to a Kwikfit, but even better a local independent and asking if they can have a look around their wholesalers for stocks and prices.
Online suppliers are good to get an idea but I have ALWAYS beaten the best online price by asking nicely the bloke behind the counter who taps at his oily calculator for 20 seconds.European for 3 weeks in August, the rest of the year only British and proud.0 -

Blackcircles for me every time, Yokohama £130 fitted and get Tesco points.
They have a good selection from £80-£150. I usually go for a better wearing tyre but some people prefer better handling/ less road noise.
My last tyres on my 4x4 were Michelin Synchrones, they have done 37,000 miles and still have over 4mm of tread.
When I buy from Blackcircles I always select my favourite local independent to have them fitted. I do ring them before ordering online but they have never been able to match Blackcircles price.0 -

Provided a car is over 2 years old, the current MOT for £5 deal is worth way more than the Tesco points.
Looking quickly I'm not sure Blackcirlces have any desperately good deals in the right size. I'd look around a few online places to find a best price, and then as suggested phone one or two locals places to see if they can beat the deal.
Looking at the prices, I'm very pleased I don't own a 4X4!0 -
Wonder if these might be any good?

Reviews here are good, but they're all for the tyre in a smaller, non-4X4 size:

I agree - nothing like speaking to the sales person to see what they can do.0 -

Get an idea who is cheapest online then go and speak to them.
When I needed tyres for my Xtrail Kwikfit wanted £580 for 4 x Michelin Synchrones , I eventually got them through Blackcircles for £360.0 -

Yup... I sometimes find F1autocentres also give a good online price but I also run it through Blackcircles etc, print it out and slap it on the counter of Mr Tyre or Hi-Q and they have never failed to match and then a bit.
The trouble with the internet is it doesn't haggle!European for 3 weeks in August, the rest of the year only British and proud.0
