On the subject of subtitles. BBC iplayer and Netflix have a good coverage of subtitles. Lovefilm doesnt have any at all, only on the rent by post.

So use lovefilm to rent the discs, 3d content are expesnive lovefilm has some so this is a cheaper option.

Netflix, BBC iplayer for subtitles on demand.

Channel 4/5 etc and services like Blinkbox dont have subtitles, I suggest complaining to them.

To add to the tech options, you can use a YouView Box for streaming of on-demand services. The line-up varies slightly depending on your ISP and whether you are in contract or not.

I am on TalkTalk - 18 month contract with iPlayer, 40d, Demand 5 and TalkTalk player (US boxsets), with PAYG access to Lovefilm.

As long the the box is not plugged into an aerial, it does not require a licence.
