I don't know if you're anywhere near Tavistock but round here we've got a firm/charity organisation specialising in recylced goods. They're called Refurnish. They take donations of furniture, white goods etc then sell them on. Each item has two prices. To qualify for the lower price you need to be on benefits. Anyone can buy from them though people who are not on benefits will pay the higher price.

The best answer has been given....... freecycle....and put in a wanted ad.

2nd best is the local freeads paper or websites such as http://www.adtrader.co.uk

You could also put a notice in your front window
Wanted: free cooker, fridge, washing m/c

Whereabouts in the country are you?

There may be some other members in your area who see this post and think "Ah, I need to get rid of that....., I wonder if the OP could use it"

I assume you'll need some furniture as well.
