Hi
Thanks for the replies.
Possibly a troubling scenario.
My main phone has a recall button. Some phones dont. Like my extension phone and spare one dont have a recall button at all.

Sadly this isn't a problem that BT or OfCO[STRIKE]N[/STRIKE]M will take notice of. I phoned them about this a few times in the past - the response has been "oh that isn't possible, just replace the receiver" and generally patronising me as if I'm some looney who doesn't know how a phone works... :rolleyes:0

Thanks Crabman
That is just what I done ,see OP ," just replace the receiver"
and the line is still busy.
I think if anyone bothers it should be clarification from BT in writing then, if nec, a complaint in writing to BT or OFCOM recorded delivery with a copy to their MP.
That is presuming that 999 calls, uniquely, cannot overide a call already on the line as described above.
It wont take a criminal mastermind to phone the victim from outside their house on an unregistered PAYG phone then break in. Also presumably (?) burglar alarms will be out for 2 to 3 minutes.
If the above is the case definately needs fixing. Who's gonna write or ask the question.

To be perfectly honest, I can't see BT bothering until someone is badly injured/worse as a result of this fatal flaw in our telecommunications system. I'd be happy to sign a petition, if there's one going on the Number 10 site... assuming they bother to even read those... :rolleyes:0

I must admit I dont think my MP will be a lotta use so therefore do not feel I can be of help. But I feel a recorded letter to Bt or Ofcom cannot be ignored like a phone call. If then anything happens at least a letter and a (maybe useless) reply from an MP is on record.
I am not familiar with email petitions. Are they any good. Would a letter be better, personal touch, be taken more seriously?
