Just FYI, this has been covered twice already in this thread.

OP is in Scotland and therefore English laws do not apply. Whatever is written in the contract, is the notice period and the OP has stated this is 60 days in his/her situation.

Secondly, even in England, notice is not 30 days. If the tenancy period is a month (usual) then the notice period is one tenancy period - to expire at the end of a tenancy period and not after 30 days.

Sorry you're right, i jumped the gun. Didnt read the whole thread, apologies.
  • Not sure why you wouldn't want strangers in the house when you're not there tbh.....

    Like burglars?
if you were selling a property it is quite likely that the EA would conduct the viewings without the vendor being present - surely this isn't that different? A LA acting in a professional manner is not exactly going to nose through your stuff/steal anything ;)

If the OP was selling, it would be in their interests to allow viewings, but they are not, so it isn't.
  • In this instance, I understand the LA want's your co-operation with viewings, and you want their co-operation with getting the bond back. Give and take on both sides may work out for the best all round?

    Just a thought.

If that's the way it works out, they may have a tenant lined up and then decide to withold all the same.

I meant that viewing would be allowed once the deposit was returned.
