How do I go about charging this company for the time I've wasted waiting in for their courier. They've apparently got a mobile phone to deliver (ok, my husband did ask for it) and the courier can't find the house. Royal Mail can manage it so why can't the courier for the mobile phone.

What an exasperation.

Can these couriers not phone our landline number to get directions??

Too simple, I suppose.

Don't waste time? Wait for a failed delivery note and only then arrange the delivery or collection?

There should be a standard code of practice for delivering mobile phones.

1. Accept the order
2. Confirm full address details and collect landline phone number(s) in case of difficulty.
3. Call the b....y landline number if the courier can't find address.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh.

Thanks for your reply - failed delivery notes only work if they can find the address in the first place

I know, but it's their problem, not yours and you don't waste your time.

Sounds like Yodel. They can't find the item they were supposed to deliver and never deliver when they're supposed to. their sole purpose in life is to ensure they don't do what they're paid to do.

If it is them I'd complain to the sender/supplier and tell them to cancel it and re-send using a different courier.
