Morning everyone,
Nepenthe Welcome and good luck with the exam.
Molly, Hilstep, Jools Hugs.
LW Any 4 legged visitors?
Judi Sorry that things are so tough. Remember we are all here for you.
Halight Hope that you get a date really soon.
Redruby Hope that little dog is ok.
Pouring with rain here. I have to take DD2 to the dentist to have her brace fitted today. Fortunately all of my children get their braces for free on the NHS as their teeth are so wonky!!!
Going to see a friend this pm whose husband had just had a stroke, he is only 48. He is expected to make a full recovery but it has brought my friend down to earth with a bump.
Lots of revision going on here. Going to cook a chicken today which will last the next 3 day meals hopefully.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Good morning everyone
Lots of sunshine here at the moment but rain forecast later.
Have just scrubbed the patio stone with cleaning fluid so the rain should wash that off later and leave everything moss free. I checked the ingredients and it's the same as the drain cleaner we have, so we may kill two birds with one stone, saving money too.
First day of low carb went well, I expected to feel starving but didn't. Will see how today goes. Cooked breakfast again, cheese salad for lunch and beef patties with shallot, horseradish and crème fraiche sauce on bed of stir fried shredded cabbage for dinner. I made up that recipe based on the back of a very nice M&S packet, DH reckons ours is better!
Need to pack up an ebay parcel and want to get it to the post office before the rain starts so will do that now.
Butterfly scarf knitting is fun but I can't do it at same time as watching TV so it fell by the wayside. Will try and do some more later and sort out my wool bag too.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

I finished the first paper really early, so I'm hoping that that means it went well! The second paper's at 10:30.0

Good luck nepenthe
nmlc I like the sound of your chicken and stuffing wrapped in bacon - I've made a note of that
Bit of a strange day here- there's nothing major that needs to be done, so we are at a bit of a loose end.
If only the weather was nicer, I'd do some garden work, but I'm a fair weather gardener, and it looks like winter out there. DH is currently putting together one of those plastic covered gardens cloches - we are going to try to grow some herbs and rocket under it. I'll go and see how he's doing in a moment.
I'm in the process of selling off my postcard collection, that I amassed in the 70's and 80's, so I think I'll sort a few of the more interesting ones that will sell individually, and get them photoed. Nostalgia is very popular on eBay.
Other than that, not much going on here

You have just reminded me that I have a large box of postcards from my parent's and grandparent's houses. I really must take a look at them and see if there is anything suitable for ebay.LBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning All,
Haven't been on for a few days as we had a hectic bank holiday.
OH tiled the kitchen floor, only the grouting to do now. Looks lovely too.:T
Sorted out loads of cupboards, loft to do next:rotfl:
Local Hospice shop will be doing well when I get the stuff down there. Ebayede some, but some (China mainly) couldn't be bothered. (Too much packing material and breakages likely.)
Got four letters for various medical things yesterday, so calender is filling up rapidly!:rotfl:
Haven;t heard from Social Services re Daddy again at the moment, let's hope they go away, but I don't expect so.
Waiting in for some Portmerion china I ordered, and DD is waiting for some Approved foods we ordered.
Faggots and peas for dinner, fasted yesterday, but haven't lost anything this week so far.:o
(((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))) to Molly and JulesI Believe in saving money!!!:T

Morning all!
Was sunny a minute ago, but the sky is getting black again, so no washing today. Got an e-mail in the early hours to say my uncle in Australia has had a heart attack, he has a long history of heart problems, has had bypass surgery in the past, and is in his 80s with early dementia, will wait for more news later.
Not sure what I will get up to today, feel like pants. If it stays dry will go for a walk later. For now, will throw myself in the shower and contemplate what to get up to!
Have a good day all.RIP Iain

Morning all.
Returned from holiday full of enthusiasm for getting going and DOING THINGS.
Regretfully, the feeling didn't last past the first day.
Halight: I can't believe that you are still waiting. Goodness me, every day must feel like a week. Fingers crossed that you hear something soon.
Nepenthe: Welcome, and good luck with the French Exam. The last French exam I took was for 'O' Levels and I failed! Largely because in the Oral I was given a picture of an oasis - pool, 2 palm trees and 2 camels surrounded by desert - and asked to talk about it. Couldn't think of a thing to say, struggled to come up with a word for camels ('sand horses' was the nearest I could manage), and palm trees, and there were long, uncomfortable silences. That was nearly 60 years ago and I remember it like yesterday - in fact better than yesterday! My friend got a picture of a wedding group outside a church, I could have coped with that. So unfair.
Helen Jelly: You are a quicker learner than me. I learned how to make a granny square on 12 May 2013. Think it will take me the rest of my life to make a blanket.

Hi all

Helen thanks for asking on yesterday's thread, I'm plodding on as best I can - don't worry, I know where your pm box is if I'm in need.;) And thanks!:AOff to work for me, need to drop dd at work first, and the dog to the vets, she had a diabetic low yesterday scared the life out of me, so we got some honey into her, and rushed her in, she now had another day at the vets for a glucose curve, lets hope they can sort her out.LW Any 4 legged visitors?
Must get on - Mr LW will want to eat at noon.:D
(((HUGS))) for all in need - not going to mention names, as I'll inadvertently omit someone, you know how it is.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
hello x
Been reading - thank you for thinking of me x
Love and hugs - no real OS as Im feeling very under the weather xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
