Barclays ISA Call Centre - Can Anyone Get Through?

Hi,

I've been calling Barclays call centre (0845 603 0845 menu options 2-1-4) all week, probably about 15 or 20 times at various times of the day. Each time I get a recorded message saying "We're currently expriencing high call volumes and are unable to answer your call." Then it hangs up and doesn't let you hold.

Has anyone got a better method of getting hold of them please or a time of day when they're generally available?

They've lost 3K of my cash  and I really want to get hold of them! They opened my account, I sent the bulk of my cash, then 2 weeks later they sent me another letter with a different account number and said they'd opened it in the wrong tax year - hence my cash has gone missing.

Thanks

Bonzer.

I agree..absolutely dreadful. There is a freephone No which I have used (I think its for complaints not ISA particularly) - they were really helpful sorting out missing interest on my ISA account. Give it a try...at least you can speak to someone fairly quickly!!

Dear Bonzar, i would not bother about telephoning the ISA helpdesk, it seems they arte either flooded with calls, or using every man to the pump to clear the back log of ISA application forms.

You might want to try getting connected via barclays customer services on on 0800 435 872, if you still dont get any joy from customer servives, they can also connected you to their complaints section. other moneysaving people have reported faster actions when complainbts have been logged.

Lastly, whenever you are dialing numbers, with 0845, 0870 etc... remember to check the https://www.saynoto0870.com website for alternative cheaper/free numbers, good luck and let us know how you get on

Hi matey. Let me just say to you "wibble, wibble, wibble, wibble, rhubard, ampesand, wibble, hamstring"

Now lower your head and run as fast as you can into a brick wall. Then punch yourself in the crotch.

There. I've saved you the trouble of calling the ISA Helpline. You're also MORE informed and LESS pained that you would be if you had got through to them

Thanks, in the end I took an hour off work and drove to a main branch just before they closed. They told me roughly the same thing and said they can't get through to the ISA call centre either and haven't got a better way of doing it. They suggested I log a complaint at the branch about my lost money, which I've done. They said I'd get a letter through (should be 2 working days but they said it will actually probably be 5) with the name of a person who will deal with my complaint and a phone number to get through to that specific person. So that sounds a lot better than the ISA call centre. I also took the name and direct line phone number of the person at the branch who logged it.

    Regards

FYI: Option 1 answers with a message and then cuts me off. However this afternoon option 2 worked fine. I managed to get through first time.

Try 08000858566 if you already have an account - they can do extra money into it, rather than wait on the 0845 "phone" number.
