10 which is already in a fixed interest isa, 20 in an index linked isa. Want a greater return.
At the moment I have student loan debt, no degree as of yet, no mortgage, am 26 and single.
I have been living at home with family whilst debating my next move.
I have a keen interest in financial markets, have thought about opening a spread betting account.
Thought about going travelling for three years.
Any advice or insight much appreciated, what would you do?
David.

This board is not regulated to offer any advice.I have a keen interest in financial markets, have thought about opening a spread betting account.
Spread betting is gambling. You might have more fun with the money down the bookies, or at a night out in a casino?what would you do?
And, to be fair, what I would do with it is probably very different from what you would do with it. Plus my needs are almost certainly different from yours.
Then again, i might blow £15K on coke and hookers. The rest I'd squander....:D0 -
A greater return would likely require a greater risk, are you happy to risk your capital?Thinking critically since 1996....0

it is gambling, but if you have balls and a feel for the markets you can come out top. an entrance role in the financial markets would secure the 9-5 and that would be on the side in an ideal situation, but alas, no degree.0 -
Some Investment Trusts within an ISA wrapping to offer a diversified portfolio would be my starting point.0

Fair enough. You won't mind me saying then that if you have the necessary "balls and feel for the market" then you probably wouldn't be asking the question contained in your OP?
Have a bash and report back in a year. It'd be interesting to see how you get on....0 -

Finish your degree, otherwise your student loans are for nothing.

Saving money is good, but having a direction in life is even better

Very unwise for someone with no job, no degree, no stability
Thought about going travelling for three years.
Well, you could blow the lot like that if you want-but what then?
Honestly, finish your degree, and invest 2/3 of it in s&S isas over the next two years. then get a job, join the pension then maybe buy a house etc.0
