Fraudulant O2 Contract
Hi
Please can someone help me, I have had 2 O2 contracts taken out in my name. The account has been set up with the billing address as mine but the phone was bought via a click and collect service. I (the billing address) live in South Wales but the phone was collected in London.
I have contacted the police who gave me a crime ref number but they have said that they cant do much other than see if the criminals get caught in the act whilst taking out another contract which to me sounds like a very lazy way of investigating a crime.
O2 fraud team don't believe that the contract is fraudulent as they have given my correct account details and correct mothers maiden name. They don't believe that anyone would be able to give the correct mothers maiden name other than myself.
This is driving me nuts as im a mortgage house owner with kids and this is going to effect my credit rating for the next time I remortgage if I do so.
Are there any other avenues I can persue ?
Thanks in advance

Do you have any way of proving that you couldn't have been in London on the time and date the acc was setup?
When you say they gave the correct account details, do you mean phone acc or bank acc? Either way, it 'sounds' as if it's someone you know if they can give that level of information...0 -

Hi
thanks for the reply, as for account details I meant my bank account details which I have now cancelled. I could probably prove I wasn't in London at the time the phone was collected but O2 don't want to know about this. As far as they are concerned they are my contracts end of.
I suppose all O2 want Is money for the contract and are not interested in who pays0 -
I've dealt with O2 fraud a while back (someone took out a contract in my mother name 2 days after she passed away. Must have been someone she knew as all the info was correct). I had to send them some paperwork, but it was resolved in the end.
The O2 fraud team can't just ignore you. If its a fraudulent account then they have to deal with it. If the standard fraud agents won't or can't help you ask to speak to their team leader and try to get them to look into to it. If you still get no joy get on to the O2 Exec office and lodge a formal compliant...0 -
Thanks Jon01
in the process of asking them to supply a time and date of when the phones were collected (supposedly by myself) and I will then prove I was wherever I was which I know was not London0
