Do you have TT Fibre broadband?
The standard ETC for TT broadband phone +tv is £15.50 per month remaining, however if you have fibre bb there is an additional charge of £10 or £15 depending on package, which would tie in with your quoted charges. If you decide to cancel your services with TalkTalk while you are in contract early termination charges will apply.
Phone and Broadband- If you are a phone only customer you will be charged £3 for every month left on your contract.
- If you are a phone and broadband customer on the Lite package you will be charged £6.00 for every month left on your contract.
- If you are a phone and broadband customer on the Plus or Plus TV package you will be charged £15.50 for every month left on your contract.
- If you are a phone and broadband customer on any other package you will be charged £9.50 for every month left on your contract.
Fibre- If you are a customer taking the Fibre Medium service you will be charged £10 per month for every month left on your contract, in addition to the phone and broadband early termination charges.
- If you are a customer taking the Fibre Large service you will be charged £15 per month for every month left on your contract, in addition to the phone and broadband early termination charges.
All TalkTalk early termination charges are compliant with Ofcom regulations.0 -
One of the reasons I am moving away from long term commitments for 'entertainment' products/services - mobile, BB, phone etc. The aces are all with the providing company in these sort of arrangements and 18/24 months is a heck of a long time to sign your life away for in these uncertain times.0

It's the same issue as with mobile contracts. If people want a £500 cutting-edge smartphone for 'free' or at least for less than say £100, then the only way to make it work without absurdly high monthly charges is to impose a longer minimum term. In this case it's presumably the capital cost of the YouView box that pushes the minimum term up.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

My (new) mantra - if you can't afford to buy an 'entertainment' product outright you can't actually afford it full stop. So don't be seduced by these long commitments as it absolutely isn't in any way 'free'. Glad to say I've got my son thinking the same way at a much younger age than i saw the light - he had a 24 month Vodafone contract that has now expired so bought a Nexus 4 outright and will be pairing it with a very cheap 30 day rolling SIM only deal. It really is the sensible way to go. Avoid being a captive audience because you will invariably be treated worse than if you can be off in 30 days.0

The 'subsidised handset' model was a uniquely British marketing idea, I don't think it was ever so popular in other countries? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

As I understood it, the ETC should take into account any savings the provider has by your ending the agreement early such as:
- Savings achieved by not providing the phone line and service.
- % discount for getting the payment early.
- VAT deducted as no service will be provided.
