What actually are the untrue accusations made against you?0

Is it a photograph that you personally took, or a photo you acquired from somewhere else? Is this person claiming they are the owner of the photo? What do they want you to do, remove the watermark?0

^ That's what I was thinking. If they're your photos then these guys' comments sound libelous and you're right to take action. If they're not your photos and you're claiming them as your own then there's your answer. In my profession a few people have been caught using others' copyrighted images and they were hung out to dry.0

Hello all.
I collect photographs and postcards of the Titanic and they are original period 100+ year old items. I do not claim copyright or overall copyright, but I do watermark them with my name as to indicate where these rare items come from and to prevent others stealing the image for other gains, such as profiteering (eBay).0 -

So you mean you scan physical photos/postcards, then watermark the image files?0 -

I read his post again and from this I'd guess he has the original and photographed it for online use -
"...he went on the offensive with me over a photograph of a item in my collection that I watermarked (to prevent image theft)..."
Which I think means that if the original was not copyright and the photo was clearly a photo and not a reproduction then he is within his rights to watermark his photo, as he owns the copyright to the photo (but not to the original image). But if the photo is a duplicate then he shouldn't be claiming (c) or watermarking. Not that it should matter a stuff whether he watermarks them or not if they're out of (c) but that's my interpretation.0 -
Would you consider pulling the plug on Facebook and setting up your own site? You would then have full control over who posted what there.

Internet/cyber bullying is a Federal crime in the US, the FBI can and will deal with it.... Maybe it's possible for you to contact them via email if your local police wont deal with it. Or you could try True Vision, on report-it.org.uk...that is a site set up by the Association of chief police officers.0
