I've thought of a few more:
You best mate asks you for gossip while she's been on a 2 week holiday and all you can think of is.... I've paid off my first store card!!!
You log into internet banking and stare at your loan accounts in the hope they'll magically go down :rotfl:
Your always logging into your email account to see if any amazon sales have happened.
The only book by your bedside is Martin's The Money Diet :money:
You get really excited that the mouthful of free chocolate you sent off for arrives.
You realise that fitting MSE around work isn't going to happen so you fit work round MSE!!Current debt - £16,300
Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
LMAO some very funny stuff on here today.
I took a few days off for decorating and was in withdrawal.
Before DFW i would have gone for the Ivory paint i originally picked at £18.98 for 2.5 litres. I actually bought 6 litres of magnolia (very much ivory i think):rotfl: for £26.95. I will be able to use this at least another 2 times. I also got some paint for my staircase, i picked some dulux colour and an almost identical colour in B & Q range was half price so my staircase cost me £5 as i already had magnolia from room for the top part of the walls.
I have haggled down the price of my carpet by £25 and when they were fittign it i noticed a massive off cut and asked if it would fit my bathroom. Yes £15 for fitting but nothign for the carpet! Yay so still £10 saving and an extra room carpeted.
I would never dream of haggling anything before. I also got the price of my car insurance down by £60. Didn't know about quidco as i was a very new newbie then.
I have changed from branded nappies to shops own brand, I was a nappie snob.:o
I check the web for vouchers. I kept checking Argos for sale on my soaf and Yay it come in the sale £100 off. Before i woud have just ordered it and thought oh well how was i to know. You can touch the dust but please don't write in it !
Would you like to speak to the man in charge, or the woman who knows whats happening?0 -
When i bake i now prepare my bread before starting the buns this way they can all go in together never realised how much a cooker costs to run.
Also the kids hate the fact that i keep telling them we do nto live in blackpool and there is no need for every single light to be on in the house.
My mums laughs now because when it rains i stress out and will not do any washing. Before i never hung washing out and everything was dried in the tumble dryer.
i have now realised how ignorant i was about the little things that make a massive difference. You can touch the dust but please don't write in it !

When in your attempts to save money by switching phone and internet from Bt to tiscali, Bt cut you off on a bank holiday weekend without warning because of the switchover, and you seriously consider suing for stress and compensation for a near total mental breakdown because you can't get on MSE or check your internet banking....
Or is that just me?Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043
Que sera, sera.

You know MSE is taking over your life (and that of friends and family) when they refer to you as Martina Lewis ... I think Martina suits me !!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
EDIT: and when a certain member of the family refers to the website as "tight-gits.com" ..... (we'll be rich-gits.com one day!!)
Remember though, no point in being a rich git if you're too afraid to spend some of it!:pCheers,

These are brilliant!
Mine go like this...........(but aren't as funny sorry)
Pre LBM
me: "I got a real bargain"

me: "3 books for £20 in smiths" I now use the library.
Post LBM
me: I got another great bargain!"
oh, cringing : "what on this time"
me: "lots of tins of smart price tomoatoes for 13p each!!!" I used to use fresh tomatoes and ended up throwing out most of them.
oh: "wonderful...................I think"
Pre LBM
Going out for a curry. Starters, main course, several beers, pudding. £35 odd.
Post LBM
Staying in for a curry. Quorn, asda own good for you sauce, tin tomatoes, basmati rice (smart price) £5 at most. and much heathlier!
Pre LMB
me: "will you cook tonight?"
oh: "chinese indian pizza?"
Post LBM
me: "will you cook?"
oh: " beans on toast, fishfingers or homemade chips and gravy?"
I am obsessed with the electric/gas/food waste/packaging etc etc and it is slowly working.............If you wait for perfect conditions, nothing would ever get done! :T
