My current contract with Vodafone is up but I don't know what phone to go for next. I've got a Sony Xperia 10 which was OK but nothing special. I just want a phone that has a good camera, relatively quick and can hold its wireless connection unlike my current one! Just a general good one all round but I really don't know where to start with a good model. I only want to really pay around £20 a month.

Any suggestions?

Buy the phone you want outright, end the contract and keep the £20 per month for something really nice.

Go PAYG or capped sim only instead.

I got the Nokia Lumia 920 (amazing camera) on o2.

£22 per month via mobiles.co.uk, Got £27 something cashback, free phone

600 minutes, unlimited texts, 750mb data, unlimited 02 wifi.

I am currently in exactly the same situation. I have a contract with 3 which is due to expire in a month or so.
Initially I was looking at the Galaxy S3 with the T Mobile Basic internet deal with 300 mins, u/l texts and 250 mb of data plus a free handset for £21 per month.
Last week a friend of mine showed me his new Nexus 4 handset. It looked the business. Loads of useful features and he has changed to Giffgaff. I have crunched the numbers and if I get the Nexus 4 16 gb (you have to purchase upfront) and go onto the £7.50 pm Giffgaff tariff which gives you 200 minutes, u/l texts and 250 mb data, over 24 months it comes out at £460 or £19.17 p/m. I am pretty sure that this is going to be the one I end up going for. I am expecting a call from 3 retentions any time. They will have to do something spectacular for me to say with them.

This phone currently retails for £260 on PAYG with EE/Orange so that may be worth checking out.

    £22 per month for 24 months = £528:eek:

Much cheaper to buy the phone outright.

I'm not sure about a Nokia Lumia as it's a Window's phone. I presume there aren't many apps for it although I only use the main Facebook, Twitter etc

Looking at the forum, seems like a few people are having problems with Samsun S3's dying and then being told it's their fault.

I'd like an Apple even version 4 would be fine but not sure if they're now out of date.

I just want something with a good camera, relatively quick and reasonably priced. Too much choice!
