Hi, my daughter has done something on facebook that sent her to a survey. after popping in her phone number it told her that she would be charged £5 per month unless she sent a text to the asking to 'stop'

Ok. What I want to know is how will this bunch of scammers be taking £5 per week. Her phone is pay as you go. Ive told her not to top up the sim and throw it away and get another sim to replace it and stop messing with things you dont understand.

So will these people still be chasing her for a fiver per week?

From her credit and you are doing the right thing. But she must get a new number and not PAC her existing one over. Also, completely unrelated, get her on OVIVO mobile. After the initial £15, it's free if she keeps within the allocation.

I would also send the STOP text to preserve the credit on her current sim to use it up.

Might be worth googling the number first because I've heard some horror stories about people being charged just by sending a text to a premium rate number, even if it's to stop.

There is no credit on the sim now. I dont want to use any other phone to use the txt number to 'stop' incase it effects things on my phone for example, unwanted txts and other rubbish.
