i just got swindled with a von dutch t-shirt. on the picture it looked real because it had the printed tag on the back like authentic von dutch shirts, but when i got it it was fake. its not a really bad fake but still, i feel a little disheartened. nevermind though, i suppose you learn from your mistakes.
but, i've got loads of good designer wear off ebay, such as real lacoste polo tops for £9, i would still recommend it to buy stuff off there. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

ebay baptism of fire...
its not too bad in general, you can get a good discount on some things but if something sounds too good to be true then it generally is, always read the small print and the sellers feedback, impulse purchases are best avoided, i've ended up with far too much stuff that i just dont need, and if you see it on there once chances are it'll be on again in the next few days, not many things really are one time only however much they emphasise it
you really are never going to get a 19" TFT for £13 too, they retail at near £500 ::)0 -
good news
i emailed the seller and explained the situation regarding my sons error in ordering the monitor
I layed it on thick and apologize for not checking it out :-[ and politely asked for a refund
i recieved an email back straight away confirming a refund in the next two days
and i have a refund ready to be accepted through paypal for £22.62 ( which is -£3/36 for admin etc)
which i will accept gladly
it's a small price to pay for stupidity ::)
turned out not as bad as i first expected
from now on i'll be extra careful

Just for future reference Ma Baker - the 'Buy it Now' logo is no indication of whether or not E-bay endorse a product - it is just a way of sellers to fix a price for an item they may well have a quantity of or want to sell quickly. Don't take the logo as a sign of anything except that the seller is offering alternatives to the standard e-auction route.0

Does advice need to be given to a thread over two and a half years old?"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Slightly unrelated but still relevant - I bought a lava lamp from eBay several years ago. The guy selling it "assured" me it looked just like the one in the picture. It finally arrived - a skanky home-made effort that didn't work. I can't remember what I did in response.0

I've bought a few Armani products from ebay, every one of them claiming to be genuine but the thing is that you get the "certificato de authentico" with them...i also have genuine shop bought Armani clothes and when you compare the certificates of authenticity it's clear the ebay ones are fake, the paper is scrappy, flat and printed on with an inkjet whilst the genuine ones are bumpy(the writing is raised) cut neatly and printed with a high quality..in saying that though, the actual clothing hasn't been too dissapointing they don't appear to be greatly inferior to the genune stuff, are based on genuine designs and haven't fallen apart.Bought, not Brought0
