Thanks for confirming that Smart1e, I did notice that one too when I posted about the one in the pink box, but I wasn't sure it would work as A.com had it as 50ml, and S website has it as 30ml.
Glad it worked though :T
Hi there - good evening everyone, I'm back!!:)
I think it depends what the product actually is - i.e. if it is 50ml it will/should compare to a 50ml on a.com/t.com - I think the Sains. website isn't relevant to the BM. Conversely, if something on a.com/t.com doesn't have the quantity/weight, this can make the system fail to pick it up when it is the same. I think that's what stuffed up the Chewits multipack on Svs T recently. It's clearly the same 5 pack in S and T, and clearly the same weight in both, but t.com doesn't have the weight. I went back to Sains. and they refunded me the outstanding difference on that no problem.
Similarly, you can find things instore in T or S that aren't on the store you're shopping in's website, but they still compare on the PP/BM. This fact may be of use in deciding how to purchase the product - and remember the absence of products from competitor websites (and therefore from the PP/BM) can be of use as much as the presence of the products. If a product is cheaper at the competitor, its presence is needed! But it can work the other way: if a product is cheaper in the place you are buying from, it could be used, appropriately, as a filler if it is absent from the competitor site and returns N/A even though in reality it is actually more expensive (perhaps in-store) at the competitor! (This needs to be done with care though.)
All these schemes - and the APG too - take prices for products from competitor websites, so that's what will get picked up. In the case of the APG though, msm scans not only T, S and W's websites (and others for wines/health & beauty) but also a.com - and if a product hasn't made it through to msm, it won't be included in the APG. Again, this may be useful or it may not. It's useful as this is relied on when using triggers for instore multibuys that then refund from full price (remember the absent trigger does not count towards the 8 diff. items). It is no use when the absent product is cheaper elsewhere than A and you'd have liked to have done a comparison, for 10% off, but can't.
[...continues for a further half hour when that may have been the natural point to have stopped]:rotfl::
(For those actually interested:D:rotfl: in the detail, or for whom the detail may be of greater use)
I lament that some items, such as A's cox apple bags and Nestle Smarties Hexatube multipack seem to have eternal errors that mean MSM's scan fails to pick them up (this can be noticed if you have the MSM companion and go to the product page for these products on a.com - if they have not been picked up, the companion won't open up and give you the price comparison). Thus when t.com went down to a low of 77p on the hexatube, I had to do it Svs T for a mere price match and couldn't get it 10% lower via using the APG!0 -
Dont you be waving your finger at me, parading around in front of workmen with only a t shirt on, poor Mr Stubby has been away less than a day
I will wave some more.
I'll have you know I did have knickers on and it was a longish t-shirt.
And I don't think his head popped above the fence only his hands and arms. When I hung the washing out earlier I could see bit of brick work has been replaced so not actually sure how long he was there before I noticed. Luckily laptop was covering some bits.0 -

Oh and a further point: perhaps it should be mentioned - or perhaps it shouldn't! - that one of the Silverglide razors were the ones recently that didn't appear on the APG and gave some really good trigger comparisons vs S. They were in effect far cheaper. If you were able to get them then, it puzzles me as to why now to be matching to £5??0
