Ooooo thanks TS. Now that sounds lovely.
Has anyone actually done the 5:2 diet? Could I have the above for my lunch maybe with a bit of salt and vinegar and a couple of cups of herbal tea? There probably aren't any hard and fast rules but I don't want to cheat so to speak. The thought of going lunchless is a bit much for me!I think part of why the diet works mimi is that you do deprive yourself and miss a meal too. I'm not looking forward to that.
All the menus in the book are just for breakfast and dinner.
I haven't got as far as the menus yet. I might split mine 150-200 for breakfast, 100 for lunch, 150-200 for dinner and anything left over for snacksI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. TSis- I am sceptical about eating things of no nutritional value.
On non, 5;2 days=fast days, I am quite a strange eater as such, nothing refined, no sweetners, only unrefined organic sugar, raw churned butter not marg and cut up my salad, no bagged salads, veggies. No ready meals. I try to eat as close to 'natural' food I can get, unrefined, naturally produced. On fast fast days, that goes out the window and I'm eating fat free yogs(with aspartame) and jelly with sweeteners too!
have a read of this- http://www.nutritionist-resource.org.uk/blog/2013/02/20/is-new-slim-rice-as-healthy-as-it-sounds/ I personally wouldn't buy these, but up to each individual, of course.:eek:FunkyFeet:eek:Elite 5:2 #190 -
But surely 8 calories is not going to be classed as a meal is it? I'm just making excuses now aren't I? LOL.
I must let my work colleagues know about my diet in case I keel over due to hunger pangs.
Did you see I added a bit to my post. But just found this too.
Taken from the book:

Most of the girls menus are split 150/200 breakfast and 350/300 dinner. Couple are 250/250. Snacking is not encouraged.
It is all to do with the body thinking we are experiencing a famine and that is why it works.0 -

I eat dinner before 8pm each day and then breakfast isn't until about 8.30-9am the following day. My belly is getting plenty of break....
My problem is all the crap I eat between meals :oI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. TS- in a way you are right.
we who love our food (defo me:D) are used to eating 3 meals a day, on a fast day- imagine having a breaki and dinner and in between kind of snacking. Cottage cheese and 1 toast, 3 portions of sugarfree jelly, snack of carrot sticks. 2 cups of green tea, can of diet coke. I have done the above, had 2 meals, breaki and dinner and had the above in between and manged to stay at 550-600 cals.
Now I'm not saying you can't have 3 meals, plan your cals well and you may be able to do that. Play around with calories of lowest fat foods and putting meals together. Also, there are sites showinf how peeps on the 5;2 have already worked out meals which average 150cals each, so take a look hun:):eek:FunkyFeet:eek:Elite 5:2 #190 -
