Afternoon lovelies
just back from a Spanish jaunt, held up last night by the *** french, sat on the runway for over two hours, waiting for a slot......they like to play god so they took our original away, promised another.....
finally home at 3am when should have been tucked up in bed before midnight.
My poor son and daughter in law came to collect us with my GDG(18 months) she slept through it all, ahh.
My youngest went away yesterday as well and was promised a five hour delay but finally got a slot to go after 3+ hours.....so much worse on the way out as its eating into your holiday, poor thing is only there for five nights.
Anyhow enough ranting, luck to all who needs it, it seems I have been giving some away recently.
I believe in the power of positive thought and always tell others of t his but great news on my arrival in Spain.
A lovely couple who have been wanting a baby for a long time have finally got their wish and a happy arrival is due in the new year.0 -

I've tried encouragement, explaining that she'll be able to go to nursery if she can use the potty, even treats and money but she still insists on soiling herself
Hi, princess...have you tried pretend play with baby / teddy and a toy potty? This worked for my DD as did a sticker chart, where every time she tried and sat on the potty she got a sticker even if she didn't do anything.
I also kept the potty in a central place, mine was in the hallway with the sticker chart on the wall behind where she could see it without it being an issue.
Having worked with little ones for many years the best advice I can give is trial and error, lots of praise and patience. What works for one child may not work for another. My DD was toilet trained by 2 years 4 months, my DS who's just gone two is no where near ready yet.
Do you know what she is scared of? I only ask because my sis had this issue with her DD wetting at nursery but dry at home...they finally worked out that it was the nursery toilet door, my niece was scared of getting locked in so wouldn't go to the toilet.
Hth and good luck.:)0 -

Anyway, today is my birthday and I have reached the grand old age of 45. Nowhere near as old as dotty, Artha and Nanny L, however probably a very similar age to most of the Elite.
Having read about 20,000 posts over the last few weeks, my impression is that most of us are in the age group 40 - 60.
