This is a truly amazing moment! I know the answer to a cooking question :D:D I actually cooked a gammon a couple of weeks ago. First one in my life ever, and nobody got hurt! lol
Mine was the finest unsmoked and I didn't boil it first, just put straight into the coke. The recipe said there was no need to boil mild cure gammon either. I hope that helps :)

Thankyou FC, mine is smoked so wonder if that makes a difference ? X
Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.

No matter how you feel, get up, dress up & never give up.

FC, did you cover the gammon in the coke or was it just half way or something?

Sounds nice, I'd like to try if I can find some cheap meat lol

To be safe you might be better with advice from someone else. The recipe I used is here

It was too big to cover fully. So ( after some advice :o) I turned it half way through. It really was lovely, though.

I've just finished reading Nigella's guide to ham in coke.

    Thanks for posting that.

Where do I get the gammon from ?
