evening all the elite seems well must be the cheap funny chocolate putting everyone in a good mood.

found out why the school wanted to see me about ds3 they say he argued with the year head he says he had a healthy debate.

quite amusing really, but i have to decide wether to back him or the school, as he has low attendance due to his alder hey appointments and being ill they want him to attend extra classes in the summer their argument was it is school policy for all with low attendance to catch up with their work, sounds ok but

his argument everyday he is of he copies up any work before the next lesson does any homework, so is never behind, is in the top set for every lesson has never had below 87 % in an exam his report for may nothing below a - and he got a certificate today for the maths comp that all welsh kids did as he is in the top 100 for the entire wales for maths. and if that did not work he then said it is against his human rights to punish him for having an illness:rotfl:

his argument was more convincing than the schools but not sure what to do..

First off, a very well done to your son for keeping up and doing as well as he has. He clearly is a credit to you :T

I would be asking the school just how summer classes are going to improve upon what he's already achieved.

Can you ask whoever you spoke to at school if they have room to use discretion with regards to the school policy? And is it just a school policy or a wider policy within your local education authority. It does seem a bit off to make him attend classes he clearly doesn't need. Well done to him for keeping up so well.

I think I would be finding if this is actually a requirement or if they're just being jobs worth about it.

Just been watching a report on Ryanair on tv anyway this clip was mentioned
Warning a little bit of languauge but quite funny :rotfl:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAg0lUYHHFc

    Just reminded me:

A man is alone in an airport lounge. A beautiful woman walks in and sits down at the table next to him.

He decides (because she's wearing a uniform), she's probably an off-duty flight attendant. So he decides to have a go at picking her up by identifying the airline she flies for, thereby impressing her greatly.

He leans across to her and says the British Airways motto :

    'To Fly. To Serve'?

The woman looks at him blankly.

He sits back and thinks up another line.

He leans forward again and delivers the Air France motto:

'Winning the hearts of the world'?

Again she just stares at him with a slightly puzzled look on her face.

Undeterred, he tries again, this with the Malaysian Airlines motto:

    'Going beyond expectations'?

The woman looks at him sternly and says:

'What the **** do you want?'?????

    'Aha!' he says

    "Ryanair" :D:D

Dr Dre Beats are over hyped and overpriced. If your DS desperately "needs" these rather than better quality/cheaper ones then DON'T buy from ebay! The web is full of fakes. You'd need to buy from a reputable store (eg amazon.co.uk, but not amazon marketplace iykwim) and expect to pay full price. If it's selling cheap then it's probably fake.

My DS wanted these about 18 months ago before you could buy them in most shops, but I refused to pay the price. He ended up getting Bose IE2's which look cooler and are far better quality, oh and much cheaper too. (He's since heard his friend's Beats and agrees that his are better)

    Edited to add:
    http://www.monstercable.com/headphones/

At the bottom of this page is a link in red to a list of sites which sell fake Monster products (mostly Dr Dre Beats). Alongside that is a link to help pages which will help you make sure you are buying a genuine product (should you wish to go down this road ;)) They open up pop-ups so I can't link directly.
As an aside from my previous post.
Now I don't know how old your Ds is but if he wants them as a fashion accessory (which is IMO their only selling point really. They are not considered highly in audio reviews) then buying a cheap pair of fakes from ebay might be the way to go. The pair my DS had looked pretty good, came in a realistic box with okay sound quality for under £20 iirc. He wore them to school with the other [STRIKE]clones[/STRIKE] kids (most of whom later admitted had fakes) and then after a while the fad ended. Is this something he might go for?

Thankyou, I think it is just a fashion accessory, everyone has them and he wants what everyone else has. I have tried to tell him that it is just the name that he is paying for and their are cheaper better headphones around. I am not paying over £100 for a pair, no way. He can moan all he likes. He is 13.

He must have put about 20 pairs in my ebay watch list at the minute, and keeps calling me to tell me that a pair is finishing soon.
You're just paying for the name

My daughter had a pair that cost her £130, my £10 panasonic ones were better .

I know, I have tried to tell him that, he seems to think they are the bees knees.
