The diesel v petrol article finally sunk in.

Those DPF's are an expensive repair.

Mine went after having the car 5 days, took 2 weeks to repair and cost £2000, thankfully I'd rejected the car by then and got a refund ( after mentioning sale of goods act )

Years 3 to 6 diesel repairs and parts estimate is £3000

    Petrol @ £500

I'll take the 1.6 petrol thanks very much.

Talking of cars, does anyone have a Qashqai? if so what are they like?

May be in the market for a different car this year, and like the look of it.

Heh JS! Great to see you posting :D

DD2 is looking at a few but I have heard lots of lovely things about Lincoln. Did your DD stay in halls first year? Then move into a house? I'm wondering what the rough costs are and also what the employment opportunities are like for a part time job?!

My friend's son has gone to GLasgow to study and they didn't even have a job in McD's for him! (he'd been working in McD's through his A-Levels).

She lived in halls the first year. Over £100 a week and TBH they are not up to much but in the first year they need to be with like minded people.
She had a house in the other 2 years and loved it. Worked out cheaper than halls.

Jobs are ok. There are lots of places that take on students. They can even do promo work for the bars handing out leaflets. Its such a lovely city and the uni itself is really good. My DS is thinking of going in 2 years time.

    Xmas Saver!
You can tell its a slow day when even the news is reporting when only a few people have mobile phone problems. Apparantly 3 customers cant get internet access. I could understand it if their were 23, or a few hundred, or even a few thousands without access it hitting the news, but just 3 people shows how slow it is ;)

How does it go again "I don't bloody believe it"
Its true you either go cheap as chips or something decent is the price of a cheap present

This really made me giggle as that is Mr Stubby's nickname. :rotfl:

He has a beer tankard with "I don't believe it" engraved on it. :D

So I have 2 Victor's to contend with now.

By the way he does not buy cards either, he makes them. ;)

I have a Qashqai +2 at the moment, but have had 2 Qashqai Accenta Models, which were great only problem sometimes I found the boot wasn't big enough, but they were brilliant, I loved having them, as handsfree, parking sensors and cruise control are standard on the Accenta, lovely interior aswell, nice drive.

We now have the +2 and I won't be having another one of them, we got it for the 7 seat capability, but from the age of 7 my kids can even fit in the back seats. It has a bigger boot just.

My next car will be a Qashqai, I was really impressed with it, I had one for a company car and we brought one for the wife, that's how impressed we were.

Meanwhile my wife has got the Kia Soul, again not great for the boot, but she loves it.
