:D the kids had a great time. Thankyou for keeping the rain with you for the majority of the day ;)
Train was free (thanx red spotted hanky) bus fares were about £6 for a day ticket so DS2 has spent half the day riding buses with me :D
Dinner was under a tenner in Ikea (we all stuffed ourselves silly on hotdogs and chips and musn't forget the free teas and coffees :D ) then we popped across to As for some shopping (came to 20p after APGs) and had a womble which generated just over a fiver :) (15 receipts but only 2 were any good)
To top it off the centre had a Lego event and they were giving out goodie bags so that kept the kids happy.
Came home then popped up Ts to catch the tail end of whoopsies and DD wombled a PP for 33p :rotfl: I swear I've created a monster there, she was climbing around trolleys in the car park while I just hid round the corner, kids seem to be able to get away with it much easier :D

Hope you had as much fun at work :o

I didnt really want to keep the rain but anything for the elite :rotfl:
At least you got a fiver with wombles, your training dd well:T:T
Kids will sleep well tonight then:D
Oh had a really exciting day at work its a bit like a glitch rinse and repeat at next house :rotfl::rotfl:instead of a's

Ooooh, I won't guess in case I end up offending. LOL.

Did you manage to get the fruit and nut bars or whatever they were the other adorable poster mentioned? I think it was 8 bars for 50p or something?

Just checked my Tesco home panels, good job I did not go head first into doing the mens products survey. :o

After reading my inbox it is for mens incontinence products. Don't think Mr TS would have thanked me for that trial.

I was thinking more on the lines of moisturisers, hair products etc. ;)

    Afternoon all :)

Just tried to do a few searches and all my typing was being entered right to left, no problem spelling carribbean backwards!

Cue panic....... laptop switched off and on again, phew, all typing correctly again! No idea what I did to cause that!

Have voted for a couple of gardens, including Laura's.

Hello again. I've just had one of those 'unresponsive script' messages appear. Funny thing was, when I tried to press "stop script", it then said it was "not responding". Well I never...!:rotfl::rotfl:

Well - it's the time of the week again when all my Northern Ireland friends skip the rest of the post. Back from this week's Morries collection, and if it took longer this time it was all my fault - a slow, but very careful:D, collection.

So to the highlights, a teaser of what's coming later in the week... stories of strawberries, salad and Cathedral cheese.

The 300g strawberries (to be bought in M for those who don't go for whoopsied strawberries) appear to have increased a lot in price. M's now have packs, including some at £1.49 and some (UK Strawberries) at £2.00:eek:. Except that, price-wise, it's on from the straight M Strawberries ... and onto some new M Savers Strawberries - 300g for £1! They're Spanish strawberries, but that makes no odds to me.

The salad. It's not very often that I like it when supermarkets reduce their pack sizes. However, on this occasion, I have found the Asda Smartprice Seasonal Salad (180g) - might it compare to the M Savers Salad I wonder? It's comparable enough for me - and I don't think MSM would argue (that's if it's actually got through to them for approval) - but the M Savers Salad, 200g, seemed sadly just outside the generally not well-known weight range limit (10%+/-) from the Asda product. 180g+18g = 198g.

However - either I made an error in the first place and had this as 200g when it was always 190g or M have reduced the size of their product. On now checking from the A S/P salad (44p), the M Savers version clearly says 190g on the SEL (there was no product left by the time I reached the store late in the day tonight - but that doesn't matter:)) so, if it was originally 200g, it seems M have sneakily reduced the pack size by 10g.

But...many thanks, Mr M!:j It's now 190g, and now therefore clearly within the 10% range from A's 180g, so instead of buying the M Savers Salad, it's now off to A for the A S/P version for 10% than M!!:j:j Even if there's a slight weight-adjusted price ... but are A and M's version the same price per 100g anyway? And therefore 10% off A's price in effect 40p. Not quite - it's 24.4p odd (A) and 24.2p (M). So, very slightly cheaper, but it won't make that much odds.

Noticed how in general, even when different stores have different pack sizes to each other, or even the same sizes, they are nearly always the very same price per unit?? I don't feel it's price-fixing, but instead stores watch very very closely the prices of their rivals and very often use those to help determine their own price. Equally, if a competitor increases their price, it often seems a signal to everyone else to do so likewise.

There's no point in being more cheap than your competitors than necessary. So, for example, I noticed a disparity in the prices of petrol at A and S nearby to me. I noticed that S were nearly a penny cheaper per litre than A. S are usually xxx.9p/litre and A are xxx.7p/litre. But even where "xxx" are the same for both stores, S can work out slightly cheaper, in effect, if you collect Nectar points. Except that, last week, S nearby were 128.9p/L whilst A were 129.7p/L. With Nectar collection, it would effectively be another penny a litre off the price.

But... that was no good, no good to be cheaper than A and then Nectar points making it slightly even cheaper. I noticed how, very soon, S price has now risen to £129.9/L (A still £129.7p/L) - whilst S still work out cheaper with Nectar points, no use thinking my "double points on fuel" coupon was effectively worth anything. If it's used now, it's the same as single points on the new price.

(What point are you driving at Savvy? (No pun intended.))
    Back to the M collection...
The Cathedral often glitches well. The offer on the Mature or Lighter Mature in M however, at £1.95 each, has now ended:(.
But... it's now, for us, move from those versions... and onto the Cathedral City Extra Mature Cheddar (350g) - that's now on offer in M until 9th June, £2.25 each. Don't know if that helps as not up-to-date with others' prices yet, but I think the offer in T has ended so...if there's a glitch, it may well be Avs M item now! May keep us going till 9th June (hopefully someone else - not A itself - will then put on offer). Told you if you stick with the same variety every time, chances are you'll often/sometimes pay over the odds.

Those after the Pimms 1 litre will be very pleased (unless they went and bought it in M itself last Bank Holiday Monday). The offer on that is due to continue to 2nd June in M. M's have a maximum of 6 per customer, which should be applied on the APG to any one shop but we know that may or may not happen.

    There's also some Strongbow 20x440ml at £10 in M. Maximum of 3.

For those who suffer from hayfever, I may have some remedies for you to follow on the M list.

That's a little taster of the items to come.

Mullers are stuck on 6 for £3 sadly in M:(:(. Regarding the items that have now expired, the main ones of note are the Burton's Dodgers - now up to £1 each in M - the McVities Golden Syrup Cake, the Kipling Viennese Whirls (was 65p, now £1.30) and also the Pot Noodles, which we (I!!:rotfl::rotfl:) didn't think were very good in the first place at 50p (or 45p), they've now gone up.

In fact I can tell you what's to be deleted from the M list. Avs M this is - I'm not bothering with Tvs M (although I have collected the details and will be posting them as usual, the one that appears to have gone is the Tesco/Morrisons Spring Vegetable Rolls). The Savers pears are down to 600g - so I've stopped buying them;):rotfl:.

    Avs M - delete:
The Cod Fillets by weight (now replaced by the Counter Haddock Fillet at a slightly higher price - £8.99/kg - no idea whether that's good or not till I check fully and may be prepacked ones as well if I can fit any A ones into the M weight range).
    Large White Baps.
    Bardoit Sparkling Water.
    Burton's Dodgers (all).
    McVities Golden Syrup
    Kipling Viennese Whirls
    CBY Sardines in Brine
    Pot Noodles
    Sunflower Spread/Light Sunflower Spread
    The Nestle Desserts
    Weight watchers Yogurts
    Actimel Yogurt Drink
Cathedral City Mature or Lighter Mature (now replaced by Extra Mature unless there's a better option vs someone else)
and the Dry Me Like Toilet Training Pads.

I've also now decided the A S/P Conditioner isn't comparable to the M version after all. Same price as M. Can be a filler in A - but should be N/A vs everyone.

I'd say don't whatever you do buy any of the items on that list above, as these are the ones now off.

And... with that, I suppose I'd better be off as well now. Bit of a late time of the collection, but still got round with plenty of time till closing time. One of these days I will be stuck there when they close. And left wandering around M's for ever more till the end of kingdom come:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. In fact there was plenty of time again tonight - and, you probably wouldn't have noticed this, but there was only one occasion where I was still collecting the prices at the time the store said leave. It was at Easter, when the only aisle I had left to check was the Easter eggs aisle - to find exactly which ones M's stocked. I picked that up the week later, but it didn't matter in the meantime as I think you all discovered vs T was the best option in any event!
