Thanks for posts SB.
Just wondering how this one works out
Cathedral City Mature or Lighter Mature Cheddar (350g)
£4.28/Any 2 for £5.00 £1.95 (until 26/5) (vs M)
Do you have to buy one or two of the mature cheddar (350g)
tia
[...]
You would have bought (since the M offer would now have expired unfortunately), two if it was a m'buy glitch day on the APG and either one or two, depending on how many you need, if it's a normal (non-glitch) day. I've included the A multibuy price there in order to provide assistance in case a glitch day comes up.
Apologies for going off and enjoying the day:D - and only arriving back with this reply now - and also sorry for it not being clear for you. hope this provides info. as to my thinking behind these things. The £1.95 price is £1.95 each in M. I am always looking at the best option on my lists, in other words you would only buy one on a normal day, unless you needed two.
You can get 1 or 2 (on a normal day) - it's up to you as the M price for two is still cheaper even after the A multibuy. But £1.95 is cheaper than £1.95x2, so only get 2 if you need that many. Otherwise you'd be wasting money (non-glitch day excepted, and multibuy price put there: (a) to help in case it's glitch day and (b) because M is still cheaper even if 2 are bought even on a normal day). Of course if it's a m'buy glitch day, you would always buy in 2s.
However, M offer extremely likely to have ended now, so we now stop buying Cathedral at all, or move onto the next best is now Avs T (for all of one day, expires 28/5 therefore treat as 27/5 as online prices they use change the day before), but £2.25? I've seen £2.19 before (at S). If a glitch suddenly comes on, then a decision to stop buying would of course be reconsidered!:D0 -
Good eveing Elite :hello:
All went well until Dh wandered back to the car with 2 x 99s  I dare not declare how much he paid I was so  as I know Mr M has 6 cornetos for £1 . He says he didn't mind paying, but omg he has alot to learn
Hi Aljack I hope you had a good day, I had a similar experience when my OH bought icecream for him and his children I politely declined then asked how much it cost and I nearly fell over. I went to the same place again with one of my friends and her children and she ended having to buy me to watch me squirm when eating it as I knew how much it cost. It doesn't taste the same when it full price. I have to say my OH does not share my love of saving money.Mortgage debt 45,000. Thank you all for your help so far in helping me save to buy the house. I could not have done this without all your help.0 -
Savvybuyer wrote: »Savvy's solved it! The total price of these items (2 diff. peppers, one cucumber and 2xSalad Leaves) on the comparison is £2.80 (51p+51p+51p+£1.27). All these items are showing in the 2 for £1 offer on MSM (which isn't relevant!) but the Salad Leaves are on bogof, so T have given you that. That leaves three items left - you've got 2 of those for £1, but missed the multibuy on one of them (by getting an odd number in this shop) therefore 80p individual price on one (doesn't matter which, as they're all 80p each - the cucumber, the yellow pepper and the orange pepper). The PP's then proportioned the amount to each of the products, without a glitch.
Although I'm trying to think it out...it's included the bogof salad leaves. The cucumber is 80p T vs 50p A, so could buying the salad leaves with the cucumber still leave the cucumber at 80p but you paid less? But then you'd have to get the multibuy, it seems to have compared the way it has due to the number bought missing a multibuy but I suspect, had the multibuy been got, sadly the multibuy price would be picked up.
I won't go into how you should have taken out some of the items from this shop, such as the Maynard Wine Gums (and at a push bought them Avs T or Avs S, I say at a push because, although I've compared to £1.00 4pack Maynards in the past, it's no longer a good price for me, even with 10%) and why the Cathedral City at T when it's had a glitch before in A, or in any event Avs T or vs M?! (Although I know although you have an A available to you, you only went to one shop, T, today.) There may have been T MOCs off so much spend on fresh veg/salad - last time I had something similar (months ago), I tried a mix and match with the non-comp. salad leaves and some fresh veg packs, some of which were comparable and some not, but sadly the multibuys were accounted for correctly.
Thank you for working that out Savvy. I didn't have a clue
Thank you also for the other observationsI had DS2 with me so a few things on this are what he decided were going in the trolley!.....notice the cheeky little Lego mini figure that didnt make an appearance until the checkout
Cathedral city simply because my last glitchy As CC is almost done and I needed cheese. I could only get to one supermarket today and Ts was a better choice for my other shop which I used loads of coupons on.

Of course, it means
Cathedral City Mature Cheddar (350g)
£4.28/Any 2 for £5.00 £1.95 (until 26/5) (vs M)
Cathedral City Lighter Mature Cheddar (350g)
£4.28/Any 2 for £5.00 £1.95 (until 26/5) (vs M)
I've combined it into one for brevity (as without, I'm sure my list would be running off the page - not that it already doesn't almost do so:) - and exceeding the character amount allowed in a post).
I hope, where these are alternatives rather than combinations of items having to bought, my lists are clear that they are alternatives not combos. Especially as great efforts are always going on behind the scenes to try to make them crystal clear (efforts which sometimes add too much and cause confusion sadly:o).
Where alternative items are different weights this does influence the format in which this info. appears in my lists. So it's likely I'll repeat the brand name again in full, rather than slashing out different flavours in the middle of a name. (Although not all of this is fully consciously, so this doesn't always happen - I'm as inconsistent as any human being!) If prices at A differ, then they'll normally be put in as separate entries in the list. For example, if A charged £4.28 on an individual Mature and £4.27 on an individual Lighter Mature, there would then be two entries (like above) in my list - even if the multibuy price was the same on both of them. (If there were two entries, due to individual prices differing in A, I'd then probably have a note about a mix and match being possible.)
If they are the same price whatever variety is bought, they'll normally be in one entry - and the words "or" and "and" are very important! (Unless I've made a typo-but I am very often more accurate than the average person.) But try not to read the list too mechanically as I'm sure you'll then trip up!:rotfl::D V sorry - it's not always easy to follow my enigmatic ways! (Even if I always know what I mean.)
If items are the same price set-up in the place whose price prom/guarantee we're using ("set-up" includes individual pricing and multibuy pricing), then they'll often be combined into a single entry. If the weights of some of the items then differ, some of the lower weight ones may be omitted altogether if they aren't that good value (always going by per unit price) - or you may get comments from me about them being "but that's only" such and such a weight!0 -

I think I must go ott at times with freebies and mocs and glitches, almost forgot about 1p items too. Not that my local often has the 1p items but boy oh boy ! I do love the rush that I get :rotfl: :rotfl::rotfl:
I went into Ts yesterday and spotted some keyrings, picked up 4 and went to ss to purchase my shopping, scanning as quickly as I could
Silly me forgot the T Oatbran so when I went back later in the day I got another 8 keyrings plus the [STRIKE]gruel[/STRIKE] Oat Bran. There's no place like home
Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.
