Help! I've just started a Master's degree and needed computer and internet connection to do a lot of the work. I found a good deal on a PC and, having read Martin's tips decided to get a BT phoneline in order to go for the UKonline Broadband deal - I live in Guildford. Just an update from me.

Finally found that Virgin Broadband service my postcode and phone number and was activated last Wednesday. I've had no problems - Broadband is working fine, ABOVE the promised 512K speed.

I'm v happy with this, but am puzzled as to why everyone else - BT, UKonline, Tiscali- were adamant that it wouldn't work on my line.

Bizarre, but sorted in the end
