There was a regular contributor on here called The Goodman. Anyone remember him?? He was an Apple fan and posted regularly about Android deficiencies.
He would be in his element with this story. !!!!!0 -
Funnily enough, I was just thinking how sensible Apple's approach actually was....... Saves a lot of heartache!0

The reason for the listings, not the apps being hacked are down to sky. The only way this would have happened is the hackers getting hold of the authentication key that only the developer has. This would only be known to the development team at Sky and held on their own servers. The hackers hacked sky, got their key and got access to their ability to update their app. To do it you'd also need their login details.
The obvious thing here was the Syrian Electronic Army wanted to make a point. Google however have the power to wipe apps from your phone should they wish. As for Sky, they might want to start making sure their authentication keys are less easy for people to get hold of. Sky also had their Twitter account hacked, again.
Apple have also had this issue, only to few weeks ago although it was not a big breach like this. It was where someone could get access to accounts with just an email address of the account holder.0
