talktalk - fibre any good?

Have been with talktalk for a year. Seems fine although recently we have to reset the connection quite often. We get about 10mb speed.
Looking to renew and have been offered £6.25pm for the Fibre for 12 months but for an 18 month contract (normally £10pm). To stay on the current broadband is £1.25pm for 12 months (+line rental on all).

Has anyone managed to signup for the £6.25 for full 18 months?

    It's good. I'd recommend it.

My bill currently looks like this

    Talk Talk Essentials - £4.50pm
    Fibre Optic 38mb - £5pm

£60 bill credit (effectively makes fibre free for 12 months)

    (line rental paid upfront)

Oh and don't worry about an 18 month contract. You can negotiate a new one after 12 months anyway. You just can't cancel it is the downside.

Your bill looks like this currently. Worth pushing for the bill credit like i got but it's highly unlikely you'd get with already such a good deal. -

    Talk Talk essentials - £1.25pm
    Fibre optic 38mb- £5.00pm

Thanks ZhugeEX. They didnt say I could renegotiate after 12 months. I was just worried about getting stuck with them - as the prepaid rental is for 12 months and the minimum term for fibre is 18. But I guess there is no other way. The speed I have on broadband is not bad but faster is always better...

You should be able to get fibre for £5pm for a lifetime price.

But it's the talk talk essentials (landline) package that would go up.
Get them to break it down to you on the phone with what discounts they've given you.

At the moment it sounds like you have the
    -12 months half price @ £3.25pm
    -2GBP recurring 12 months discount @ £1.25pm

You are absolutely right. When I called back to accept, got a different person b ut she couldn't find the deal abd said the £5 discount on fibre was for 6mths or 18mths but nit 12. Was reconnected to the person I initially spoke to and its exactly as you say. Thanks.

I just managed to get fibre for a fiver for life as well as talk talk tv, unlimited broadband and daytime and evening calls all in for a fiver for 12 months. I've been a customer for years now. My monthly bill will be 10 quid as i pay line rental upfront based on £9.50 per month.

Can you explain the recurring 12 mnth discount? Is that after the first 12 months?
I am thinking of joining them ,essentials half price and ph this week, is it a good deal, considering the fibre also. any advice please?
the fibre option is more than you are paying, any idea why?
