So no credits have been going into the account since 2005..... Or since when?

I can understand the account being frozen (does not stop credits) unless Santander have informed HMRC (unlikely) that you are no longer at that address.

Why does not being unable to pay a tax credit mean they stop ALL other payments?
Sorry this just does not make sense at all.
. I will suffer as a consequence of this ridiculous action of the bank as i have no money; bills go out at the beginning of the month; rent is due 2nd week of the month and now it's half term and the kids and I wanted to have a bit of fun in the sun.

You can't get salary or benefit payments made into a Santander savings account
  • I must apologise for any confusion over the last entry i made. I was rather upset, and it was written in haste. I must thank whoever it was who took it upon them self to rearrange my entry so it may be better understood.

It seems that there is nothing I am able to do in this situation. I already have an overdraft used extensively: as a student typically lives in the overdraft more so when there is a family to support during studentdom.

It is possible to get monies paid into a savings account - my bursary goes in there so i am not trying to do something that can not be done.

I will be doing the only thing i can think of, and that is to approach Santander with whom both accounts are with and challenge any fees i may incur due to this. I'm not optimistic but its worth a try.

    Thank you in advance
