Closed accounts couple of weeks ago, now its Overdrawn ?!?

Went into Barclay's on Saturday to ask what this £29.99 was, got to the desk and when the clerk tried to find me on the system the current account wasn't there, just my Barclaycard, and he said there was nothing he could do, just I'd have to phone the Customer Helpline.

I made my way to the other Branch (my own) to see if they could do more. The clerk in there, who was the one who closed the account for me in Branch, also couldn't find me on the system and seemed really confused why the payment's went through when she knew she closed the account.

Went home and phoned the Helpline, the person on the phone said the account was open, not closed, which I was very p**sed about. On top of that they are also charging me £22.00 for using the personal reserve. They said I was told the wrong information in Branch and that I'd have to go into Branch with the reference number , and pay the £51.99 and close the account.

The 29.99 was a CPA, which I will cancel tomorrow. I just hope the Branch can find my account with reference number. But I've no idea why the Helpline can find me with no ref no. yet in Branch that can't.
