Bought Camcorder, Can't Get Spare Battery
Comments

That's bad (from them I mean, not you).
Have you asked Argos for a refund because, of course, when you bought it you were assured you would be able to buy a spare battery;)
I haven't asked the question yet, just wanted to see what opinion on here was. I did actually ask if spare batteries were available and was told yes although they didn't stock them.
I may just take it away with me on holiday and hopefully get enough life out of the one battery then sell it on afterwards.0 -
Which model did you buy?0

Then you have DO a claim for mis-selling. If it were me I would take it back and buy something I could definitely get the spare battery for!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Hmmm...
Three sellers... two selling a used battery, and the third based in Italy.
Over £50 to get the one from Italy.
Not sure I would want to buy any of those.0 -
The part number for the battery seems to be PX1733E-1BRS
There are lots of compatibles and genuine ones available

Loads of batteries for this, ebay is full of them.0

I had bought a compatible battery but it was ever so slightly bigger and wouldn't fit in the camcorder sadly. The code on the compatible was PX1733E-1BRS as opposed to a plain PX1733 on the original.
Anyhooo....took it back to Argos this afternoon and they happily refunded the whole amount. I will just have to use the iPhone for video recording whilst away.0 -
Good for Argos, you had a decent result there.0
