Bought house - what documents should I have?

It's a long time since I bought a house, but have recently bought one to let.
Our solicitor was very bad at communication but seemed to do the job OK otherwise. But I had to keep prompting him for documentation to confirm the purchase.
Completion was on 4 January and, at the end of February, his reply to my query was that they were 'late sending it off because the solicitors failed to send us the title transfer in timely fashion'.
After a further reminder this month, I was emailed a copy of the register of title (dated 4 April!). But there was no plan, which I had expected.
1 Should I have the original Register of Title?
2 Should I have a plan?
3 Should it, by now, be showing on the 'Land Registry House Price' website (http://houseprices.landregistry.gov.uk/) or does this take longer?

1. The title is held electronically - any interested party simply obtains a copy from Land Registry as and when required e.g. future sale, mortgage, lease etc. If the copy emailed to you was dated 4th April then I would assume that the registration took place at that time.
If you view an example of a title register you will note that it refers to the date and time of issue.
2. On registration a title plan would not have been issued unless the plan had changed or been amended e.g. only part of the property had been sold.
3. The data re the house price is loaded on a monthly basis (around the 20th/21st of each month) so I would have expected it to have appeared in our own house price data towards the end of April.
Note - some data can be excluded but providing the purchase was for full market value then it should appear. If it does not then use the online report form to report the apparent error and it can be investigated and amended as appropriate.“Official Company Representative

Thanks for that.
Regarding 1 and 2, I was going by the paperwork I received with my own house some 10-15 years ago. It was crisper and cleaner-looking than I was emailed by my solicitor on this occasion, so I had assumed it to be an original from LR.
3. I'll submit an 'error report' and see what happens.0 -
Land Registry have replied to my error report.
They confirm receipt of the application on 4 Apr but say it can take up to two months to appear online.0 -
Have any of you guys tried to order your own land registry report for the house you have viewed and made an offer on?
From one side, it is cheaper to pick up any inconsistencies prior to appointing a conveyancer and paying for a survey.0 -
Thanks, Land Registry representative, it appeared online this morning.0
