I've recently got a new contract phone, and I'm looking to insure it. Can anybody recomend me an mobile phone insurer. So far Protect your bubble are coming at the cheapest (anybody's opinion is much appreciated).

NB: My bank do offer a account with mobile phone insurance, but the other features are no benefit to me (to warrant the extra cost).

Decide on the level of cover you need and then READ the Ts & Cs.

I often find that the cheaper the premium the more exclusions and requirements there are.

Insurance is a personal choice. Make the right one for the level of cover YOU need. The only way to do that is to read the small print.

Had a quick look Review Centre, and at the moment it seems a toss up between insurance 2 go and protect you bubble. Anybody have experiences with either?

Add it to your house contents policy, anything else is expensive. Other than that, ask what any excess is in event of a claim, and if it is new for old or a refurbished one supplied.
  • Why do you need separate insurance for a phone? Household contents insurance will normally cover it. Check, and amend if necessary, your contents policy.

If you do claim however, you will lose your NCB on your home policy. A bank account package is the best option, works out cheaper than Bubble, I've read all the terms and conditions on Bubble and 2Go, the fine print is important. For example, you need to pay a full years worth of cover, plus the excess, to make a claim on Bubble.

And loss is not always covered. I'm with Nat West and their process is a bit lengthy (2 weeks) but it gets done and gives me credit reporting and HMV songs that I use along with LoveFilm. All for £10 a month. Apart from other things I don't use. Check Lloyds as well.
Living off £450 per month is easy...! If you aren't single! :j

Bubble insurance is no good. Too many restrictions.

Went with insurance 2 go in the end. They seemed to have positive reviews.

I use them and found it cheap enough (as 02 wanted like £10 a month) and when i had to claim it went good and got my phone fixed quickly.

But that policy covers all those resident in the house, if it was set up with you in mind. Check the policy.
