Im flat broke, have been for a long time, luckily not in any debt yet.
Any banks offering account switching cashback just now? Had a look about on google but could only see the Halifax offer I won't qualify for.
Just wondering if the savy crowd on here know anything google doesnt.

What are you trying to achieve? A quick buck? Ongoing rewards? There's regular money to be made if you have a bit of money and/or DDs to make. Impossible to judge from your post whether you can participate, but you can check out Santander 123, Lloyds/BoS Vantage, FlexDirect, FlexPlus for yourself. Oodles of posts on these already.
And Halifax Reward.
Intrigued why you say you "don't qualify for Halifax". Can you elaborate, please?0 -
Yeah thats pretty much it, a quick buck, like I say I'm struggling bigtime atm.
Unless I've misread the Halifax offer, its only available to those switching to one of their premium current accounts (the name escapes me) that require at least £1000 per month to be deposited into the account, plus at least 2 direct debits need to be transferred to the new account on opening. I currently earn just under £500 per month and have 0 direct debit payments coming out of my Barclays account.
I'll go read up on Santander 123..0 -
c) have at least two direct debits set up on my/our account; and
This line on the Santander site tells me I won't be eligible for their 123 account and thus ineligible for their switching offer.
I had no idea banks cared so much about direct debits! I only pay my rent every month, which I withdraw in cash and put into the landlords bank account via a branch.0 -
You can setup 2 DDs easily, for example Tesco Internet Saver and Tesco Instant Access, or various other savings accounts, and then switch those.
As for your landlord, I'd tell your branch to deposit the funds directly, rather than withdrawing cash. It gives you a paper trail should you ever need it.0 -
I take a receipt every time I deposit money into his bank account, I'm happy with that as a paper trail.
I think I'll take your advice on Tescos.0 -

£100 if you "switch" - I've set up some DD's on my Lloyds TSB Vantage account (Tesco and Post Office savings) and will move them over to Britannia/Coop for 3 months to qualify. Also need to pay in £800/month for those 3 months (but that could simply be moving £200 4 times between another account and this one
) 0 -
Anyone have any idea if any accounts offer a reward for switching to them manually or if they let you choose which direct debits you want to move over? I can't be bothered to move all of them and then move back, but ill do it if there's only one or two I need to move

Thanks!What will your verse be?

Most companies send you a list which says "we'll move all of these unless you tell us not to" or words to that effect.0

First Direct send you a list of DD for you to choose and just received my Co-op paperwork which asks if you want a list of DD to choose from.Pay off all your debts by Christmas 2025 no. 15 £0/69490
