Chicken smell on dishes after being handwashed

Strange question but can anyone suggest what could be causing this? I've just washed a dish with a new scrubber washing up liquid under running cold (as i've heard old water tanks can cause a fishy smell on dishes) and after leaving out to dry the chicken smell has returned. Glasses of water when left out also smell bad within minutes of being poured.
I say chicken as the closest thing i can compare the odor to is in the kitchen in work when big metal trays of chicken breasts are taken out of the oven after cooking. Are there environmental factors that could be at work? Out house often feels damper and colder than it should in cold/wet weather, mabye there's lingering bacteria/mold spores present in the air?
Thanks to anyone who can help shed a bit of light on this

Why are you washing up with cold water? Hot water will shift grease, cold water and washing up liquid just won't work. If you still have strange smells from the water supply you should ring the water company to ask for their advice / testing supply. My Mind wanders, if found please return.0

I have never heard of, or experienced that...!"Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."
