T Mobile-faulty phone

Hi all am really looking for advice as I am in a bit of a pickle.

I'll keep it brief,

Had Samsung Galaxy s3 with T mob on contract. Phone broke. Sent to Samsung for repair. Phone came back asking for sim network unlock pin code. Phoned t mobile, they wouldn't give me the code. Offered a replacement, reconditioned which I turned down. Contacted Samsung, they said T mobile should give the code and to keep pestering them for it. Went back to T mob, still no code but was offered a replacement. I said that I didnt want a reconditioned on as mine was in very good condition and I always kept it protected in 2 cases. I was told that it would be a brand new one. I checked with him 3/4 times before accepting this and getting off the phone.

Phone arrived yesterday, a reconditioned one. I was not impressed.

Contacted t mob again and was told that Samsung should have dealt with it and I shouldn't have been given a replacement by T mob. Even though this seems common.

Any advice would be great.

If your T-Mobile phone came back from Samsung and asked for a network unlock code when you put your T-Mobile sim in it, it sounds like you didn't get your original phone back in the first place.

What network was the returned phone locked to? I don't see how T-Mobile could have supplied a code to unlock the phone (if it wouldn't work with a T-Mobile sim it must have been locked to another network, and that other network would have had to process the unlock code request).
