I just got this response - I have emailed them back.

    Dear Mrs Smith,

Thank you for placing your order with L’Occitane.

Unfortunately we are unable to fulfil it as it is.

We have noticed you have used a 20% discount offer with some other gifts and /or promotions.

It is clearly stated in the emails or documents which we communicated that our promotions cannot be combined. We are happy to leave the 20% discount on your order but you cannot receive the Spring Pampering Set. Therefore this item will be automatically removed from your basket.

At the moment your order and payment are on hold.

Kindly let us know by tomorrow morning if you would like us to send or cancel your order.

If we don’t have any response from you by Thursday 31st May 12pm, your order will automatically be cancelled and you will not be charged.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.

    Yours sincerely,

Shame seeing as they don’t put this in there own T&C on the website.

They have also took money from your card surely they have to honour this?

The codes were used in good faith the website accepted the codes and also they took the money , therefore the goods must be supplied.

I couldn't agree more - the checkout page (not that I completed it) very clearly accepts BOTH codes and even lists the codes as being in use and relevant for the order!

If they are taking people's money and then going back on it all - then as I say, they really are doing a Debenhams, and this actually puts me off ever using them - as I have now boycotted Debenhams for taking money out of my account without authorisation last year when they refused to honour codes - rather than cancel my order or ask if I wanted to go ahead with just one code, they simply helped themselves to my money without asking!!

    Link to T+C's

Its not clear here that you cannot use more than one offer at a time.

From the website - I've underlined the relevant parts - the fault appears to be with their system allowing 2 codes to be applied AND accepting them both:

I have a promotional code, how can I use it? & How can I redeem my free gift?

Every promotion on LOCCITANE.com is tracked through a promotional code. The only way to receive the special offer is to utilize the code in the correct field at checkout. Please follow the steps below: Once you are done selecting your order, click on checkout. You will see a text field at the bottom of the screen called PROMOTIONAL CODE Simply type or copy/paste (recommended) the promotional code in this text field and click on GO. --- FOR GWP OFFERS: A popup will appear. It will display the conditions of the offer and will allow you to place a GWP in your basket. Click on ADD TO BAG. If your order does not meet the criteria of the offer, your order will not add in the special offer. The free gift will be automatically added in your basket once your order meets the conditions of the offer. --- FOR ORDER DISCOUNT & FREE SHIPPING OFFERS: A popup will appear. It will display the conditions of the offer. Just close the popup window and your discount will be effective once your order meets the conditions of offer. --- PLEASE NOTE: All discount & free shipping offers are calculated on a product line basis. For instance: If you have a 10% discount from us, you will see a 10% discount on all products of your order. This is equivalent to a 10% discount of the subtotal of your order. If you have a free shipping from us, you will see a deduction of xx% on all products of your order. This discount will always be equivalent to a discount of $6.50 in your order subtotal.

    Hiya,

I'm very surprised at this as I used both codes (thanks to the original poster of the offer and the codes by the way) and I was impressed at their speedy delivery and the products are gorgeous (althought I would never have paid £39 for the gift bag). I ordered on the 25th at 2am and it was delivered 29th (yesterday) which I thought was excellent considering it was a bank holiday here in Scotland on Monday.

    LEGAL FACTS NOW..............

I wonder if they have been inundated by us MSE's ordering and have only just sussed what has happened - and with my understanding if they have taken the money from your bank account / credit card you have a legally binding contract (offer (your web order)+ acceptance, (them taking the money) = their acceptance of your order under your terms and condtions i.e. with both codes).

Those of you who have had their orders stopped in their tracks with conditions attached to it, I'm pretty sure they can do this as their website is known as an invitation to treat and you are making an offer to buy the goods when you place your order, they accept it when taking the money out of your account / card as mentioned. This is why so many websites do not honour misprises found as they do not have to as they are refusing your offer to buy and in most cases have not taken the money from your bank accounts.

They on the other hand when stopping the offer and saying you can only have the goods with either the free offer OR 20% discount is a counter offer and you then only have a valid contract when you accept "their" terms and conditions.

In short if they have taken the money from your account / card you have a leg to stand on and fight to get your goods with the free gift and discount, if not alas they can refuse to sell them to you full stop.

Hope this helps to clarify things a bit.

I dont think they can pick and choose who they send this offer to.Surely they either honour it for everyone or not for anyone.Unless they have run out of stock, then thats another matter.

Well, I ordered using both codes this afternoon and just got a call from customer services. They said that they've now run out of the gift pack, but the 20% discount still applies. I said I was disappointed and I asked if they could include anything else as a replacement. They agreed to send me some extra free samples and a candle that I noticed was in the sale part of the site. I'm quite happy with that, they seemed very helpful.
    Thanks for the original codes.

Hiya here is a response from L'occitane

    Dear Mrs Smith,

    Thanks for your email.
The Spring Pampering and Beauty Travel Treats are limited editions and
are special gifts exclusively reserved to a selected group of customers
who received this offer through a postal mailing only. However, as you
are mentioning the promotion codes of our offers have been posted and
circulated on a few forums. Subsequently due to the large amount of
orders containing these gifts (and these being in very limited
quantities), we have now run out of these gifts and customers can only
enjoy the 20% offer if they wish to.

We would be very grateful if you could mention the above information
along with the terms & conditions in the forum, as you have offered to.
    - the offers are limited to the customers who received the
    mailing
    - promotions cannot be combined and are while stocks last
    - only one gift is allowed per customer.

Please note that we did honour a few of these orders before the week-end
as they were in very limited quantities at that time and your order was
    amongst them.

    Many thanks

    Nathalie Bendahan

They do have a point we should have got the T+C's before ordering I suppose. Ah well - Just congrats to the MSE'rs who got in early.
