Hi,
I moved into this 4 bed house last summer.
The gas usage is about £100 a month (which is double compeared to the old house).
My hot water is only getting warm and i have to put the immersion heat on to have a bath.
The current boiler is a glowworm, which is fitter in the garage..
Im just confused as to what to replace it with??
I need all the help i can get lol

a modern boiler will be a condensing boiler whether it is a combi or a heat only boilerI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
As said above all boilers are condensing.
Why not get the old boiler, or CH, repaired?
If the water to your radiators gets hot enough, but not the hot water in the tank, then it is probably not the boiler at fault. It could well be a diverter valve.0 -

Your present gas consumption may or may not be excessive - is that a Winter month or an average over Winter plus Summer? If the present boiler is more than, say, 15 years old then you would expect to get better efficiency from a new one but it would take a good many years to recover the capital cost. My policy is to wait until the old boiler goes severely wrong before replacing.
You haven't said whether your present boiler is combi or conventional but the HW problem may be curable by tank thermostat adjustment if it's the latter. Maybe a combi can be adjusted - I've never owned one.0
