Mobileshop.com Cashback Claim

Options
Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone has a problem claiming cash back with mobileshop.com. I had no problem claiming my first cashback, but when i tried to claim the 2nd and 3rd ones, they start to claim having technical problems with their system.

I have waited for more than 3 months now and i have NOT received the 2nd claim and now the 3rd one as well. And worse, they would not reply to emails regarding cashback claims. I am starting to think these "cashback" thing is a scam !

Anyone having the same problems??

I think theres a whole thread on this. I havent received cashback 2 and 3. Been waiting since February and March. I sent a letter before action (required before you take them to court) last saturday recorded delivery. But it seems they havent even collected from royal mail. Doesnt bode well really.

  • Hi Mookiandco - is your problem with e2save.com or Mobileshop.com? If the problem is with e2save and you are happy to personal message me you’re customer reference number and the recorded delivery reference number I can have a look into the account and see if we can get this issue resolved.

    Kind regards,
    Rebecca.

    Hi,
My friend had the same issue with Mobile Shop, and got this reply from them:

"Unfortunately we recently experienced a major technical problem with our cashback payment system. We have since rectified the cause of the problem however we now need to ensure that the integrity of our database has not been compromised. Until this exercise is completed, we will be processing all of the cashback payments manually to ensure the right customers receive the correct cashback payment. Due to the sheer volume of customer claims, we anticipate this clearance process will take considerable time. At this point, we cannot provide specific payment dates but can assure you that your claim will be paid as soon as the backlog has been cleared. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this process and apologise for any inconvenience caused. We are making every endeavour to get your payment to you as soon as possible.

If you do wish to accelerate your claim, as an alternative to cash we would be delighted to offer you an Argos / Homebase gift card for 110% of the value of your cashback claim instead. We normally offer our customers a gift card to the value of 105% of the cashback claim but, as a gesture of goodwill and by way of compensation, we are prepared to increase this offer to 110% of the cashback claim value. For example, for every £100 of cashback value, you can receive an Argos gift card worth £110 which can be spent at any Argos or Homebase store. Please be assured that Mobileshop has already paid for these Argos vouchers and they are available for immediate use. If you would like to accept this offer as an alternative to your cash claim, please email your name, address and voucher number to argos@mobileshop.com and we will issue your card within 7 working days."

Just thought it might help someone. If you are worried about it, i'd just go for the vouchers, at least it's better than nothing!

I was under the impression that they were using that excuse over 12 months ago.

I am having same problem with phoneboxdirect first 2 claims ok but a bit slow they dont respond to email so ended up find their phone number (with difficulty) they say they havent received my 3rd claim and ive no proof that I sent it so basically I am stuffed though I am going to try and put in my 4th claim and ask at same time where the 3rd claim is and then send it recorded delivery. It is very annoying as the only reason I used them was because it was supposed to be free:p . Will be interesting to see how we all get on!

Perhaps not 12 months but mobileshops have certainly been peddling out some unconvincing 'system problem' excuse since last August/September. I don't believe them.

Looks like mobileshop got my letter threatening legal action because they paid both cashbacks 2 and 3 on friday. I'm happy to put my letter on here if anyone's interested as it seems to have done the trick!!!
